ESPN.com College Bowl Mania Group for MGoBloggers
I created a private group on espn.com for all of us to join and compete for bowl game selecting bragging rights. We will use the confidence point system, as 35 will be your most confident pick and 1 the least confident. First games start Saturday, December 15, and so please have your picks in by then.
The name of the group is called "MGoBloggers" and the password is "bighouse" (direct link below). Please use your MGoBlog username as your entry name so we know who is who.

If you don't have an ESPN SN, get one!...it's easy.
Good luck!
EDIT (please note):Please note there is a rolling lock feature on this in which I have ZERO control over, meaning people can change their picks for any of the games yet to be played (before kickoff obviously). Again, this a feature that is mandatory to use for on espn.com that don't have the option to eliminate.

Awesome! Another way to procrastinate for end of the term assignments. I feel like this bowl season has a lot of slam dunks (Ok St vs. Purdue, for example) so it will be an interesting competition.

Easy except for one thing. When I went to create an account under my email it said an account already exists for this email address. So I asked for the password and I got a pop up saying "invalid email address. No such record found."
Doesnt look like ESPN wants me in this pool.
Edit: So because I wanted to be in the pool more than ESPN wanted me out of the pool I went and created a new account with my work email address. After doing so it asked me to sign in so I entered my password (which is the same password I use for all these sorts of things) and I got the pop up again saying incorrect password. And when I clicked on the "forgot password" prompt (even though I had just set it up seconds before) I again got the "invalid email address. No such record found".
Ok ESPN you win. MGrowOld will not enter this pool.

Now you know what it's like to watch ESPN3 overseas with a VPN.

Just another thing to get me excited about bowl season.

Did they pick even one B10 team to win their bowl?
December 9th, 2012 at 10:45 PM ^
Vegas has every B1G team as an underdog. Michigan State has the smallest spread at +2.5.

I honestly expect Northwestern to beat Mississippi State. I am surprised that the Wildcats are underdogs to an 8-4 team who only beat one team that made it to a bowl game (that was Sun Belt "power" MTSU, btw). SEC mania is crazy sometimes.

McShay didn't pick any. I think one of the guys in the booth picked MSU for low. That's it I think.
EDIT: I'm wrong. McShay just picked NW for a 1.
PS: We got 49 members in the group so far. Should be fun!

The B1G is overmatched in every single bowl game this year, except one. Outside of the Northwestern-Miss St. game its hard to see another team winning their respective Bowl Game.
Think about it like this, the MAC could have a better bowl record than the B1G. Ouch!

So, I was just looking through the group and started making a few picks then when I got to the bottom and picked the ones I was prepared to the only option is "Submit your picks". Do you have to submit your picks or can you just save them and/or come back and change them later? I'm not ready to submit yet, but it seems like that's the only option.

I actually made a few changes this morning to mine - when you start making the revisions, the "Submit Your Picks" button will become available and you can send the changes up until the 15th, I believe the rules said.

I don't like the whole confidence points crap. Kind of lame.
For my 35 & 34: Florida over UL, FSU over NIU.

"
he maximum number of entries per user has already been reached for this group.
December 10th, 2012 at 1:29 PM ^
All I did is select the option where there can be only 1 entry per user, so people don't create more than one entry on a username and both entries be in the group (assuming that that's what the setting means). There isn't any cap/maximum for group members that I see on the settings. I just changed the setting, so that there can be 2 entries per username and it is an "unlocked" group.. Try it now and see if that makes a difference.
I also am going on the forum there, and see if anyone knows why this is.

You have no chance to survive, make your time.

Only Mgoblog could get me to pick games based on confidence.
ESPN is so charming (/sarcasm)
Yahoo Sports used to run a game using spreads - does anyone know if this still exists?
