ESPN Traditions Poll Update

Submitted by a2_electricboogaloo on

Something has gone awry in the last day for Michigan in the ESPN voting for the best College Football tradition.  Yesterday we held a slim lead over the Cornhuskers, but today we're down 37-63.  Also, the voting has also increased to over 370,000 votes, which is 4 times the total voting for the Clemson round last week.  I'm not sure if this a surmountable lead, but crazier things have happened.

If you want to vote for Michigan's tradition, the poll can be found here.

Ever see the Chicago Bulls intro?  Add a horse shoe which they touch before entering the stadium and there you go.

The scoreboard shows a computer generated first person camera flying around and eventually through various parts of the stadium to the Alan Parsons Project's tune "Sirus."  Then the camera goes live to the actual players before they run out. Started in 1994

into oblivion if you would like, but I don't really think the Michigan banner leap really deserves to even come close to winning this thing.  My personal opinion is that FSU, ND, TSIO, Clemson all have 'cooler' pre-game traditions, just out of the teams that were in the last round or so of the tournament.  There are probably a lot of others as well that weren't in the running (A&M comes to mind).

That being said, of course I voted for UM like a typical lemming.  And I do think we deserve to beat Nebraska, since their pregame tradition is pretty weak.

Helmet and uniform matchups, that's another story...UM in a landslide.

it goes without saying that you are a douche.

When did this place turn into a slappy convention?  Can't even voice a contradictory opinion without a post getting flagged as 'flamebait' and some newbie who joined last week  playing internet tough guy.

As the actual site content has gotten exponentially better, the chat board has gotten exponentially worse.  Come for the TomVH, but don't bother staying for the post-dinner mixer.

I'll try to write something up, buy I haven't done that sort of coding since my sophomore year of undergrad. I'll try to figure out how Nebraska did it, but itll be hard go do without raising suspicion, as Nebraska had more time to lay out the botted votes than I will.

All of the Big Ten schools are ganging up on us because they know we're about to return to glory. No one wants to see Michigan become domiant again but we will, and soon. Having my partners in the bay area vote.

Totally necessary to interupt expensive lawyers day to vote in an online poll, wow. Btw I've coded the base model for the bug I'll put Into the flash program which will give UM 2 votes a second and Nebraska 1 vote a second.

figuring out that "sparty" is not a term of endearment (Hollis recently tweeted (t)his epiphany to Dave Brandon) and that recently beating Michigan doesn't remove the "little bro" tag.  RCMB shows that decades of dominance by Michigan over Sparty must be hard to get over.

i don't know if anyone reads chuck palahniuk (fight club, etc) or not, but in one book, survivor i think, the country decides to get rid of all of its porn and sex toys and uses nebraska as its dumping ground. its a pretty cool vision of tumble-porn rolling across a dildo field.  this is how i think of nebraska now.

Last night around 1am, we were up 12%, or roughly 17,000 votes.  This morning at 9am, we were losing by 26%, roughly 82,000 votes.  So in an 8hour span from 1am-9am, they gained 100,000 votes on us.  The total vote count went from 170,000 to nearly double that this morning(and now up near 400,000).  It's hard to believe they picked up that many votes overnight, during THOSE hours.

Its because little brother can't stand to see us win anything. They have a thread at RCMB that is titled "help Nebraska beat SCum" or some shit like that which has a link to the voting page.

Yea I'd rather lose and know We where on the up and up then cheat and win. The other polls averaged 80k votes the michigan v. neb. is over 500k. Would be cool if they just DQ'd Nebraska and michigan and gave it to the winner of the Notre dame FSU poll.
