The ESPNU Top 100 has been released....QB Shane Morris is a five-star, DB Dymonte Thomas a four-star: http://es.pn/yrjSll

Not an insider on ESPN but TomVH also mentions that there are a plethora of Michigan targets on the list

It is great to have Shane in the fold so early. Knowing that he has been in the ears of so many top recruits about coming to play with him in AA is great. Hoping to land a couple of big time recievers to go with him in the 2013 class. Although I can't wait to get this kid in a winged helmet, there isn't another player in college I would want keeping his spot then DRob. Go Blue!

I am particularly interested in Taco Carlton as he seems like a kid who could drop for Michigan at any moment - perhahps on his upcoming unofficial visit.  I get the sense he will be a low 4-star/ high 3-star type.  Probably bigger fish out there, but you can't quantify the fact that he's a kid from a Ohio that desperately wants to go to Michigan.  That always counts for something in my book.

I believe he was at the UTL game along with all of the other recruits and found himself pulling for the Irish over the course of the game.  I guess he figured if he was pulling for ND in that enivronment then that is where he needs to go.

I wonder if him already committing to UA game has anything to do with this....  Not that I don't think Morris is a phenomenal looking prospect and deserving of a 5th star

Nice to see we already have two quality 2013 recruits.

OT: I subscribe to ESPN the Mag, does that mean I get free insider access on ESPN.com?

Do you know that they aren't?  He doesn't have an offer, but there are a lot of 2013 guys that M is recruiting but haven't offered yet.

Also, it might depend on what position he plays.  We might not need another sub-5'9" RB, and if we do I'd guess Berkley Edwards has the upper leg at this point.  But if Stinson can play CB, who knows.

I count 26 5-star players on the list, including 5 QBs. There are only 11 total 5-stars on ESPN this year, none of whom are QBs. Therefore, either ESPN is very bullish on the class of 2013, or these players should be considered only the likely pool from which the 5-stars will be drawn.

Let me start off by saying that I think very highly of LTT, but what do I know.

I think 247 was very bullish when the came out and rated him the #38(??) prospect in the nation.  I think it was based on all the interest he was getting from top schools (UM, ND, ohio, Bama, etc.).

Since then they have dropped him down to #84 in the nation, which is still very good.

My guess is that ESPN hasn't watched tape on him or don't know enough about him.  It is ESPN after all.

We'll see, but a kid with early offers from that group should certainly be a top-100 recruit.  Hell, a kid with thos offers in December should be top-100.  And it sounds like USC will be throwing their name into the hat with him soon, and with their recent OL haul and limited spots, that will mean a lot.

I put more stock into offers than stars given out by recruiting services.  It just so happens that better offer sheets usually mean more stars.

I just think this is a classic example of ESPN not actually doing their job in scouting a kid.  It is obvious that coaches that get paid lots of money have identified LTT to be a blue chip prospect.

Stinson should be ranked the 2nd best db in the psl next year.  the kid will have enough offers.  played on the same little league team with jayru campbell. also the same team DG played on.
