Michigan vs. Michigan State

Michigan vs. Iowa

Michigan vs. Illinois

Michigan vs. Ohio State

It's been a tough couple of years.....a lot of payback to deliver.

Purdue is definitely the game that I would circle on the calendar for this season.  RR needs to take this game personally.  Michigan lost on a hook and lateral in 2008 and on an onside kick in 2009.  This year's game can't come down to a trick or gimmick.  Michigan really needs to set the tone for the game early and take it to Purdue.

I definitely understand the need to beat MSU.  However, I think that Sparty had a better team than Michigan for the past two seasons.  Those losses, though regrettable, are understandable.  The losses to Purdue are not so understandable.  They need payback.

Reading the UM-MSU grudge match comments (re: Train wreck), I'm so glad we have this blog and the anti troll/jackassery policing that goes on here.

I think these games have to be looked at in terms of whether they are grudge matches to both teams or just to one team. When one team has a grudge, it makes for a good game. But when both teams have grudges, it can make for a great game.

I don't see Purdue as viewing our game as a grudge match - they beat us last two years, and each of their coaches got the revenge they were looking for. We see it as a grudge match, yes, but I think Purdue is pretty content.

I think Indiana will have a grudge against us - their coach really thinks they got robbed last year on Warren's interception. RR had better not overlook that game.

I think our game in which both teams hold grudges is with MSU. For us, because of all the trash talk, and losing the past two years. For them, well, because they always have a grudge against us due to their inferiority complex. The UM-MSU game will be a dogfight.

He's a fat washed up never was.  Danny Hope is another in a long line of Purdue coaches that nobody will remember five years after they retire or get fired.

Purdue in and of itself is a program with no expectations other than, "to become relevant".  It's a place where a guy like Tiller can win a few games and be considered a good coach who knows the game.  Then the rock star school (that's us) hires the rock star coach (that's Rich) and Tiller and Purdue are immediately relegated to irrelevancy once again.

What's an also ran coach at an also ran school to do, to gain some free press and attempt to crawl out of "mid-tier" hell?

Easy.  Call Rich Rod names...

Fuck Joe Tiller.
