ESPN still way behind on Harbaugh
Finally put out a story this morning. These guys are totally clueless.

lost a lot of respect for Schefter through this process. He's a U-M alum and is so clueless to whats going on. Makes me think he never reads mgoblog :-)

So is Harbaugh like the next Chuck Norris? Michigan tried to market Jim Harbaugh toilet paper but it didn't work because Jim Harbaugh doesn't take shit from anyone.

Its really hard to believe how arrogant ESPN is. They don't want to admit they were last to the party. When you have the amount of people with such obvious connections confirmign that it is done ESPN is just making them self look awful by keeping up with this charade.
When you have one of Harbaugh's long time friends and a very well respected sports reporter stating that it is done it is extremely unprofessional for ESPN to continue to ignore the story.

Wait a second here. Are you talking about Harbaugh to Michigan or the SEC as the greatest single conference in the history of conferences and their re-invention of the game of football?

They basically made a front page story out of Schefter's tweet. I really can't remember if there ever was any integrity or investigative skill at ESPN back in the day, but now it is nothing more then sensationalized re-hashing of sporting events and news. They have nothing to offer when it comes to actual news stories and their "reporters" are ill equipped and trained to handle breaking news - they just don't have any practice at it.
Didn't basically the same thing happen with Mantei Teo? Didn't ESPN refuse to report and acknowledge sources outside of their own? I get needing to verify sources and not just recycling the reporting of others if you can't independently verify - but the bigger problem seems that they aren't getting any information of their own. Well except for Wiley and they seem to be ignoring him.

Yeah, that thread first appeared late Thursday over here, and I can't remember who the source was on it, but it was followed up and it was pretty clear by Friday morning that Michigan was already out there and setting up to have the formal discussion and - as it seems to have unfolded - finalize various details ahead of an actual signing. If other outlets are getting scooped by ESPN like this, either they are vulnerable organization somewhere or they really are this beholden to the NFL.

It's "officially" out there by everyone except ESPN. At this point they have nothing to gain by denying it.

Well it's not an SEC school that he's going to. So...there's all the evidence you need.

add this to the growing reasons I never watch espn anymore

When Steven A. Smith announced his LBJ to Miami way before ESPN announced it, ESPN (Ric Bucher) had Bosh and LBJ to Chicago. A few hours before the Miami leak, ESPN said, "It's the Knicks."
Only reason to tune into ESPN now is for actual games.

Remember how badly ESPN screwed up the "Miles to Michigan" story in 2007? I think they'd rather not get this wrong...they're treading carefully.
