I thought it was decided that Texas, A&M, and Oklahoma were all staying in the same conference for rivalry states.  I figured Tech would be the odd man out.

This Orlando Sentinel item seems to have a good summary of why A&M might want to split with Texas and join the SEC. Proximity-wise the SEC would seem to make a lot more sense than the Pac-10. What's the distance from College Station to Seattle--nearly 1,900 miles? Think about having to routinely pay for that sort of travel for nonrevenue sports.

One of the commenters to that item made a good point about A&M being a military school and thus being a poor cultural fit with the "left coast" schools of the Pac-10.

I thought there was a report saying Texas and A&M were going to Big Ten, Oklahoma to SEC and Tech is assed out.

But you know what, enough with all these "reports" because it changes daily. From the Big Ten to Izzo to Lebron theres a new report everyday and its different from the day before. A lot of people are killing their credibility in order to try to be the one to break the news. Either that or the sources just suck.

Aggies want to go to the SEC because they have a big deficit in their athletic department and the SEC has a better guarntee than the PAC 10.
