I read that and have only one conclusion:  He is never coming here.

He is lost to the NFL.  Good luck, JIm it would have been glorious here, however, it just wasn't meant to be.

As Yoda said "There is another."  I think John would do very well here.  In fact, he might ultimately be better for college.  I hope we can get him.

I couldn't help but appreciate the part about how while Harbaugh was at San Diego, "he ran hills with the players, sometimes pushing through his own vomit."

When I ran track back in the day, almost every time I finished the 400 meter dash, I found myself on the ground puking. Despite how miserable this was, I always got some sort of bizarre pleasure and satisfaction out of it. I guess it was kind of a reward for knowing I probably couldn't have pushed it any harder.

That said, I have to imagine JH has the same sort of mentality...but on a whole different level of sickness. The fact that he still has this much fire/insanity at a relatively older age legitimately shows the guy is one of a kind. And for this reason, IMO, Harbaugh is probably far and away the best possible coach for a program as deflated as Michigan currently is.

Shit. This makes it that much more disappointing that the odds of a return to AA are slim...to say the least.

I've thought about that, too. The jib jab wars between Meyer and Harbaugh would be amazing.

I get that its a pipe dream, and I will never believe either Harbaugh will be our coach until they show up at the podium at Schembechler Hall with a signed contract, but Jim would be exactly what we need. An injection of life, a relentless, fiery commitment to be the best, almost to the point of insanity, and perhaps most importantly, an unquenchable desire to beat OSU. I can just imagine him standing up at that podium, guaranteeing another victory against OSU, and before he leaves the podium, simply proclaiming "the losing stops now."

I'm so desperate for a real coach I'd forgive Harbaugh for waiting until Bo died and then shitting on the program with his comments on UM football players being steered towards easier academic programs.

Part that strikes me as absurd: Harbaugh makes $5M a year. Meanwhile Hoke makes $4M a year.

Think about that for a second and try to hold back the crippling wave of nausea.

Please Jim. Come home to take your rightful place.

Damn.

"I will be your alarm clock and wake you early," he said. "It can be a great temptation to rest on the field and let the opponent have a play without making him pay for every inch. I must hold his pain where it is. Mine does not matter. ... The punishment I inflict, his fatigue, and that he is up against something that he does not comprehend is everything."
