ESPN poll: Best Big Ten QB (NEW POLL) *UPDATED*
http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/rank?versionId=2&listId=801
That's the updated list. Vote there now.
ALSO ALSO: Here is the Heisman Watch list. Denard is DOMINATING this one:
http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/rank?versionId=5&listId=637
Let's go ahead and MGoDenard this poll. He's received the most first place votes, but is mysteriously ranked 3rd. I smell jealous Buckeye fans dropping him to last.
BTW I noticed this in Rittenberg's blog section. They also have the top Big Ten RB poll up.

Cousins not even an option - HA!
September 15th, 2010 at 3:04 PM ^
To be fair, there is no Michigan option in the Best Big 10 Running Back poll, while Baker is there for MSU
Edit: Link
September 15th, 2010 at 3:15 PM ^
That makes sense. Baker has 300 rushing yards in two games. He looks much improved thus far.
September 15th, 2010 at 3:14 PM ^
That's total BS. Cousins is a pretty good QB and definitely better than Marve, Weber or the Northwestern QB. Oh well. Such is the existence of an MSU Spartan. It's not just Michigan fans that think of them as Little Brother.
September 15th, 2010 at 3:38 PM ^
When you live in East Lansing.
September 15th, 2010 at 2:45 PM ^
hey i'm all for people underestimating Denard.
September 15th, 2010 at 2:46 PM ^
Exactly, I'd love for him to have a chip on his shoulder for OSU...if it isn't already.
September 15th, 2010 at 2:47 PM ^
As of 1 minute ago, Denard is 2nd, and within a few points of Stanzi(?!?!) at number 1.
September 15th, 2010 at 5:01 PM ^
A vote for Stanzi is a vote for America.
September 15th, 2010 at 2:48 PM ^
Looks like it's already been Stanzi-fied by Iowa fans, although Denard is now second and Terelle third. Denartd still has a run away lead with 1st place votes.
September 15th, 2010 at 2:50 PM ^
Yeah, actually thinking about it, Sparty fans are probably just ranking Denard last and submitting their vote.
September 15th, 2010 at 2:53 PM ^
Why is Cousins not on this list? I would put him higher than a lot of these other jokers. Other than Tolzien, he is the most accurate passer in the league, and he possesses decent speed and athletic ability for a pro-style pocket passer.
September 15th, 2010 at 3:01 PM ^
Maybe Cousins was omitted because someone watched his weak performance against Boca Raton High School. From all the radio talk, I had assumed Cousins was at least as good as four-time Heisman winner, Ron Paulus, but reality and Mike Valenti don't speak the same language. That being said, he should be on the list...maybe somewhere between 5th-7th.
September 15th, 2010 at 2:54 PM ^
It must be a conspiracy to keep Denard down! It couldn't be possible that people think two QBs that have won BCS games might be better than a QB that has only started two games.
September 15th, 2010 at 2:56 PM ^
I'd say the best player in the country would probably qualify as the best QB in the conference. Cool if Stanzi beat out Pryor for 2nd tho.
September 15th, 2010 at 2:56 PM ^
i submitted my vote and it mirrors the current overall results exactly...
- Denard (7667 / 591)

September 15th, 2010 at 3:00 PM ^
How is Adam Weber on this list and not Cousins? And what has Marve done to deseve the constant praise he has received since arriving at Purdue? Weird list.
Let people underestimate Denard - it will just make it sweeter when he runs past the entire defense on the way to the endzone.
September 15th, 2010 at 3:16 PM ^
Marve's just building on the hype from being a transfer from a big-name program.
September 15th, 2010 at 3:03 PM ^
I hate to break it to you but after the last 2 weeks no ones going to be underestimating Denard, especially not the opposing coach's and players. He's had so much press its impossible to have not heard about the hype, I doubt some espn sportsnation poll is going to be what tips Jim Tressel off on D Rob.
Anyways, Denards at 1, Stanzi 2, TP at 3 as of 3pm.
September 15th, 2010 at 3:12 PM ^
Jack Kennedy laughs in Pryors face
September 15th, 2010 at 3:13 PM ^
I was so close to putting Adam Webber above Pryor. So close.
September 15th, 2010 at 3:21 PM ^
that would kind of agree at this point. Listen, please just a little perspective on this. Those that criticize this poll ARE doing exactly what the entire Michigan fan base did last year. Pryor has quarterbacked two Big Ten champrionship teams, won a Rose Bowl and almost won a Fiesta Bowl. Is it possible that Denard is a better quarterback than Pryor, sure, but this season has play out before any such declaration can be made.
Outstanding 2 games. Pure magic, but there are ten games left here. Lets hold off on the coronation.
September 15th, 2010 at 4:06 PM ^
I think most sane people will agree (for now.) But, if we can swing the vote for best restaurant in Sarasota, or Bobble heads, then we should swing the Denard vote.
Let's get Denarded.
September 16th, 2010 at 10:15 AM ^
you convinced me. Denard is #1. Best of all time:
1. Denard Robinson
2. Dan Marino
3. Joe Namath
4. John Elway
5. Terrell Pryor :)

How is Pryor even on the heisman list? 12-27? Really? Seriously?
September 15th, 2010 at 4:56 PM ^
Meh. ESPN has been hyping Pryor since the beginning of time. Nothing surprising here.
September 15th, 2010 at 5:03 PM ^
Denard is first as of right now.
- 1 Denard Robinson (1,675) 19,865

They left off a lot of Big Ten QBs, including the one that now starts for Michigan's arch-rival.
You know, your most hated rival!
Um....Crist? But they're not even in the Big Ten.
No, your really really most hated serious very serious rival. Who you share a debilitating mutual hatred of! Not Notre Dame!
I can't believe you left off.....uh....Cousins?
Rob Bolden? No… wait, I've got it. Chappell! You'll not come so close again this time, Chappell!
[Tom Brady tries to remember all of the current quarterbacks in the Big Ten. Meanwhile, GHOSTLY APPARITIONS of James Earl Jones and LAWRENCE KASDAN materialize nearby…]
Holy shit, we got a Death Star blown up because we lost the battle over our shield to Ewoks? Are they even an FCS school?
They ran trick plays, and had some transfers helping them. Nothing to be ashamed of.
Are you kidding me? We've spent three SIX entire movies trying to prove how vast and powerful the Empire is, and then right after the Rebellion gets its most signature Space Battle win to justify all the hype, the Empire goes and loses to a bunch of fucking teddy bears!
…I'm sorry, I'll get it in a second...are we counting Nebraska yet?
If I didn't need you for my diabolical plots I would impale you on my bill.
Screw this, Palpatine, you molester -- I may not have any eligibility yet but I'm transferring back to the Jedi!
…Wait Wait, I know this! I got it! I know who ESPN left off!...
.
He is gone...out of eligibility. It's Nathan Scheelhaase now, you dipshit!
Is that a type of beer? I'll have one.
Nathan Scheelhaase? That doesn't sound very U.S.A. to me.
I appear to be free [puts on Desmond Howard's legs and transforms]
ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
[flees to the other Big Ten division so he can pretend the Illibuck Trophy is the greatest rivalry in the conference instead]
ZOOOOMMMM AGAINST EVEN BETTER OPPONENT!!!!!!!!!
...
...
...
...
I must get those gold pants.
September 15th, 2010 at 5:20 PM ^
(also meant the apparation of Anakin to say he has no eligibility left but you get the gist.
September 15th, 2010 at 5:14 PM ^
It felt really good to rank Pryor seventh. I wish there were eleven places, though.
September 15th, 2010 at 5:43 PM ^
The new poll is up with all 11 QBs, so let's get this new poll Denard'd.
September 15th, 2010 at 5:51 PM ^
Damn we have to start over? Well Denard has my vote....again.
September 15th, 2010 at 5:55 PM ^
It looks like it's a brand new poll. DUMB.
September 15th, 2010 at 6:29 PM ^
I believe you can vote multiple times for the people who care about this kinda stuff.
September 16th, 2010 at 10:42 AM ^
I guess you guys win the internets.
September 16th, 2010 at 12:18 PM ^
How? Pryor is now first in the new poll despite Denard having 700 more first place votes. Denard is third again. Haters gonna hate.
September 16th, 2010 at 2:39 PM ^
Updated the thread to include the Heisman Watch poll. Denard is way out in front in that one, not surprising when there aren't a bunch of jealous Buckeyes/Spartys there to knock him down.
