ESPN OTL: Terrelle Pryor made $20-$40k autographing memorabilia

I don't see anything on their main page, and shockingly this hasn't created a Twitterstorm as of yet.  I'll update with links if/when they become available.

One has to think Pryor's decision to leave OSU is related to this forthcoming story.  Unfortunately, since he's no longer a student-athlete, he technically doesn't have to cooperate with the NCAA.

Edit: I'm an idiot who can't re-size an image.  Was going to post this here.

EDIT #2: Link courtesy of Erik_in_Dayton.  Gracias.

EDIT #3: More info coming out, this one by SportsbyBrooks (HT: TomVH on Twitter).

after my finals are over.  I'm two beers deep already and loving every last minute of this.  Hell, there will be movies--books--written about this scandal 10 years from now.

I need to go to Costco Wholesale and get more popcorn (in bulk.)  I just don't think I have enough for this summer extravaganza.

I have come to realize that there are 2 worlds. The first is the one we live in, it's called reality. The 2nd is the one infested by delusional Buckeye fans. They seem to be of the opinion that with OSU's self reporting, (a joke if there ever was one) Tressel and Pryor gone, that OSU is in the clear.  There isn't a fan base in the history of organized sports, that deserves to get nuked more.

The Sportsbybrooks article links to it.  Here is a snapshot of feedback on the memorabilia he's sold:

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&ftab=AllFeedback&userid=infickellwetrust&iid=-1&de=off&interval=0&items=200

I'm sure some of these must be legit, right?  However, even if a small percentage of those items were procured through NCAA violations, imagine how enormous this story could become.

Talbott has sold items signed by the most famous OSU football and basketball athletes in recent memory.

So let's take a look at "game used" items of OSU players. Theoretically, they don't get to keep these, right? Here are some:

1. Chris Vance game used Ohio state Buckeyes Helmet RARE

2. Chris Vance game used Ohio State Buckeyes Jersey Outbac

3. Justin ZWICK signed game used jersey Ohio State Buckeye

4. EVAN TURNER game used shoes ohio state buckeyes SIGNED

5. Maurice Hall Ohio State game used jersey Signed Buckeye

6. Ted Ginn signed game used ohio state buckeyes cleats

7. AJ Hawk A.J. game used ohio state buckeyes cleats

And that's just the first page...

Even the Buckeye delusions appear to be coming to a head.  You go to their board...and they are pretty resigned to the fact they are going to get nailed. Heck, some long time posters over there are praying they get nailed ONLY as bad as USC.

I have to admit that I enjoyed this.  Actually, this whole thing is making me giddy.  Finally they are getting what's coming to them.  I've always thought that the vest made a deal with satan, and this pryor business is only further proof that he's a slime ball who will condone/turn a blind eye to anything.  Still, there are so many people in the state of ohio that are going to say that its not a big deal or make the excuse that 'everyone is doing it'.  They're living in a fairy tale magical world.

it would be poetic.  Little internet digging and Dennis Talbott has lived in Galion and Mansfield (and went to Kent State) and thus *may* be the type to post on a "Northern Ohio Sports Forum" thread titled "The Clarett Factor" back in 2006:

November 16th, 2006 03:39 PM InTresselWeTrust Quote: Exec CEO Daniel wrote: http://www.sportsline.com/columns/story/9799793 Article entitled Teflon Tressel, hmmmmm...it's not just Michigan fans seeing the hypocrisy. Bottom line for me: Do OSU players conduct themselves with class on the field? Do they do what is required by them to prepare for games? Yes. What some of these players have allegedly done in their personal time away from practice and OSU athletics is in reality a personal matter. It isn't the job of the coaches to intrude on their personal free time and play daddy. If they made bad decisions, they'll pay a price. If an illegal act has possibly been committed, then typically a coaching staff is going to wait until an outcome (thats why its called alleged.) before making a decision on anything to do. This whole Jim Tressel dodging bullets is pretty idiotic. Schools have players that sometimes make bad decisions, whoopty do da. If as a coach you allow to to happen on field (cough coker cough) THEN we can start talking about responsibility. To even hint at or say incredibly I might add that Jim Tressel is responsible is quite stupid.

whoever this buckeye poster is, he clearly doesn't think ethics/rules/morals matter off the field.

But I doubt it will. All their fans really care about are the W's on the field. If the NCAA erased 10 years of records and the NC, it wouldn't matter. The record books don't matter to them because in their minds, they "really" know who played and won, and they'd go to their graves professing that.

Read the article? Same dude, man. Same dude.
Talbott, who has sold hundreds of sports memorabilia items on Ebay, recently switched to that account name from his old handle: “intresselwetrust.” Talbott currently lists 250 items for sale on the auction site, including Ohio State Buckeye football memorabilia.

It's like Christmas every bleeping day.  Michigan fans are finally getting repaid for the last decade.

It is typical of Pryor's alleged arrogance that he would piss off someone he took all of that money in front of and expect him to keep quiet.  If the ex-friend gets out of Columbus before the Olentangy Mafia gets to him ala Clarett, he could be 'THE person who brings the entire program crashing down.

Since the photographer has tax liens, his finances may be a matter of public record, too.  It just keeps getting better and better.

This is just starting to sink in over on the tsio's boards....  They have hit rock bottom and seem to have conceded that their punishment will be USC's or worse..

This is a turning point.

Here are two comments he made about ESPN's source.

First...

"Am I the only one watching sports center? Who this dude sellin out bout TP"

Then...

" aint no loyalty up this way, they dont know people get missing over that type s&$t"

Wow.  Family values, everyone!

OK, I no longer care about preserving the Rivalry.

This whole episode makes me sick. I'll admit that it also makes me laugh at how stupid an institution of higher learning can be. But mostly it makes me nauseous on behalf of our league.

OSU is dirty. Their punishment should come not from the NCAA but from the Big Ten.

They should be suspended from Big Ten football for five years (yes I pulled that time frame out of my ass, so what! It seems right.). Let them play whoever they can schedule. Or let them join another league. Like the MAC.

They shouldn't be given another shot at screwing up the reputation of the B1G. Loss of schollies and no TV or bowls? Chump change. How about loss of a share of Big Ten Network revenue?

Yes, I'm serious.

BlueinLansing

the banning them from Big Ten level of infractions yet, and I stress yet.

I think if point shaving, game fixing, or other alleged rumors I've heard come true and Tressel and Co. were complicit then a Big Ten ban seems on the table.    Not to mention federal time in prison but I digress.  I would also think a Big Ten ban would have to involve other sports.

This is getting more serious by the day, and I swear it feels like we're right on the edge of the whole program blowing up with one solid non-Terrell Pryor allegation.

That you've hit on the whole reason why TSIO is dragging their feet over everything. No disclosure made without FOIA requests, and even then, only when media finds it through other sources; a stonewalling, even defiant, administration; and redacting, or holding back, key information.

This problem is likely much bigger than football, and a lot more involved than tattoos. It's likely so bad that no one in the B1G or NCAA really wants to know the truth, and they're taking great pains not to poke around too much, lest they uncover what they suspect is just beneath the surface.

What made The Rivalry so great, was that you had two schools that were alike in so many ways, particularly when it came to values and "doing it right". This scandal exposes TSIO for what it really is: rotten.

Maybe Tressell was in on the point shaving (if there was some). I mean, I am not the only one with eyes and saw how explosive OSU was when they let TP run a bit of spread offense and just when they would get a bit of a lead....back to the 3 yards and a cloud of dust (or tressel ball). It seemed to happen in most games that he would let teams  get close and then unleash TP to get the lead back...Maybe it isn't as far fetched as I originally thought it was.

Delaney has been defending Ohio and non-committal / denial with his statements since this whole scandal broke with the tats.  Unless he has something else in mind other than his pro Ohio type media statements...which is unlikely... the Big Ten probably wont do anything to Ohio regardless of the NCAA's findings.  Delaney is too much up their ass, and the rest of the BT presidents wont have the balls to stand up to Gorden Gee and his cronies either.
