ESPN Mobile TV

Submitted by Heston_The_Great on
My in-laws are getting married next year on a home game Saturday, so I need to come up with a Plan B. I would like to try and pull off watching the game on my cell phone. Does anyone have any experience with ESPN mobile TV?

No experience with ESPN Mobile TV, but isn't that premature? What game is it- what if it is on BTN? Then what do you do? If you want to be absolutely certain you can watch, get a slingbox, and download the app on your iPhone (or other smart phone). Although I know currently, it requires a wireless internet connection, which you likely won't have at the church/synagogue/mosque/wherever. It will also depend on your carrier, too- I know, for example, AT&T's mobile TV service is how you can access ESPN, supposedly, and I don't know how it differs from carrier to carrier. All of that being said...I, too, have had this problem at no less than 5 weddings in the last 3 years. Game cast isn't fast enough, in my opinion. I am hoping that this will be a viable option for me as well if I have weddings to go to this fall. You also might want to keep in mind that these kinds of technologies are rapidly evolving/improving, so what is offered now might not be what is eventually offered in time for CFB season 9 months from now.

It's October 9th, home game against little brother. 5 weddings in 3 years for you. That is tough. This will be the first game I missed since 1998 or so. I have been lucky with regard to weddings and funerals...or no friends and family! Anyway, you make a valid point. I should not really buy the phone or service until September in order to get the best technology. I guess I wonfering what the technology was like today. My wife refers to the day when the news broke of the wedding last week as "Our Fever Pitch" moment. She said she almost knocked me out when I said I was not going.
