"The University of Illinois is also in turmoil. The university sports an Interim Chancellor, an Interim Athletic Director, and an Interim Football Coach; the game will be played at Soldier Field, making this an Illini Interim Home Game."
ESPN: Lloyd Brady article
No way! This is awesome. This needs to be put in the User-Curated HOF.
an extra seat added to the stadium in his honor, a la Fielding Yost. 109,902
Haha, damn I was just getting ready to post this story. I was previewing my post when I saw this one. Should have just posted it without previewing.
Interesting bit on him leading his high school football team to a state title at quarterback.
Long live Lloyd Brady.
I checked the date of the article and was shocked it wasn't posted last night some time.
No need to apologize. I was surprised as well and hesitated for a few minutes while I checked to see if it was indeed posted.
30 for 30: Lloyd Brady
What if I told you one man could stand alone in a crowd of 110,000? What if I told you that legacies are not reserved for just those on the field? What if I told you a single circumstance could turn a regular fan into a miraculous legend?
30 for 30 presents:
Right Place, Right Time, Every Time
At the end of the article it mentions that he's looking for a job in financial services. Someone get Lloyd Brady a job!
Dont do it Lloyd. Financial services will wreck your happy attitude.
I don't like that they gave his real name. It's like pulling the beard off Santa Claus. He will always be simply Lloyd Brady to me.
Is that you?
i assume he gave them permission to do so.
This made me sad. I'm also a senior.

The MGoBlog changes lives. Period.
MGoBlog: where dreams come true...or die, Whatever.
Man it almost amazes me that the editors at the WWL allowed an article to be published that puts the blogosphere in a positive light. The MSM seems to normally hate (real) blogs.
Yeah ... but while they mention mgoblog, you'll notice that they don't link to it.
Tom works for them, so he might have had something to do with it. Also, Mike Rothstein (the author) is a fairly young guy who is probably more comfortable with the medium.
Oh my god I played against Lloyd Brady in high school. Now it makes sense why they were so good.
Man, this play-off game (a year after I graduated) was the most devastating, hair-pulling football loss I'll ever see in my entire life. My alma mater was winning 18-0 at halftime and ended up losing in overtime. They failed all three 2pt conversions when even one XP would have won the game against the team that eventually won the state championship.
Now that I know Lloyd Brady was the opposing QB, I don't even mind.
Someone call Bill Simmons. This would make a great ESPN 30 for 30 documentary. "I Believe in Lloyd Brady. The Rise and Fall and Rise of Michigan Football". The man who carried us through our hardest times!
I was one of the people on bourbon street who stopped lloyd brady and took a picture with him....funny thing is, i discovered the picture on my phone two days after the Sugar Bowl #MYLLOYDBRADYSTORY
Hey DB, take notice. You don't need no stinkin' mascot. This is the Michigan Difference. You have an iconic fan that is the epitomy of what a Michigan Fan is and always should be. Sitting front row, his lifelong support never wavering through the roller coaster that has been the last 5 years.
EDIT - man, love the part about him rushing the field against ohio last year, not to party with the players, but to embrace his old man sitting across the stadium. great stuff.
"It's been wild," said Andrew Wehner, a friend of Kazmierski's. "People will stop him, shake his hand and say it's an honor to meet him." - from the article
Only because it is an honor to meet him, of course. He is, after all, Lloyd Brady.
Great article about someone that will live in Michigan lore for a long time, I am sure, thanks to MGoBlog. I actually did not know that John McColgan was a high school teammate of his, but it was funny to read that more people knew who Lloyd was than McColgan at the dinner described in the story. This site, without a formal marketing department, is a marketing machine.
Does Rothstein get the banhammer because he outed Lloyd Brady?
The last guy to do so got shot out of a cannon past Bolivia to death.
Not to mention that Rothstein is quite bored by Desmond Morgan.
Man, and I thought I was ADD.
Who actually gave him the name? Anyone know? Brian?
According to the article, it was our fearless leader, Brian P. Cook, esq.
I remember the original post. Dont think it was Brian but someone else in that original thread. That thread was so epic.
Lloyd Carr; there is a certain family resemblance.
I know why the thread was deleted, but it was the best thread ever on Mgoblog. It was back when the points you got counted and there were some high point totals.
The Lloyd Brady saga was and is still my favorite of all the Board threads. I mean, it was so f-ing epic that ESPN ran a story on it!! Its pretty insane when you think about it, about the reach of MGoBlog. We (and mostly you talented photoshoppers) basically took a random person and made him quasi-famous. Tremendous!
our next subject.
We toyed with the idea of Facepalm guy but Hoke coming in and changing the tide of the rivalry and selling jerseys in Ohio like hotcakes kind of put the brakes on using him. Poor fella. He was "this" close to his 2 years of MGoFame.
This power must only be used for good. In the wrong hands it could destroy all that we know and cherish.
I worked with Lloyd at a job in undergrad and, thanks to mgoblog, actually thought his name was Lloyd for a solid week
I can't believe I missed him when he was in DC recently. Great article, though Rothstein should've known enough to refer to us simply as the MGoCommunity.
Long live Lloyd!
What I want to know, is who is Lloyd Brady on MGoBlog?
I bet you all feel bad now.
I was relieved to see the article did not contain something along the lines of: "Kazmierski says he used to post on MGoBlog as McFarlin, but hasn't posted in a few years."
That is just awesome! I can't imagine how strange but cool that would be...
Dreams do come true.
Only now have I known Lloyd Brady's real name... Go LB and go blue! UM 31 - NU 20
