ESPN: Lloyd Brady article
Only now have I known Lloyd Brady's real name... Go LB and go blue! UM 31 - NU 20
This whole article at ESPN's Wolverine Nation raises another interesting question. Do you think the following columnists and journalists read mgoblog? If so, do they participate at mgoblog under their psuedonym / nom de guerre? Or do they just lurk?
- Rothstein?
- Angelique?
- Sharp?
- Foster?
- Beard?
- Webb?
- TomVH?
- Sullivan?
- Snyder?
- Baumgardner?
- Meinke?
I really don't need or want to know their identity: if they wanted to be known, they would have already chosen to make their presence obvious. (i.e., if they wanted to post as themselves, TomVH is well known, and also Tim Sullivan. It would be easy enough for journalists to have two user names: their own name, and their anonymous name.)
Regardless, mgoblog is a great source of information, and I don't doubt that Rothstein, under some username, is a regular reader here. As such, he would know all the details about "Lloyd Brady," and this would have been an easy and interesting piece to write. I would think that any competent journalist would regularly read what is posted here, and probably gets tips or scoops on various matters of interest to Michigan fans. I've sometimes suspected that an article or news bulletin is put up AFTER they read the news here at mgoblog.
I also sometimes wonder how much athletes and coaches go to blogs. I think it has to be much less often than journalists and fans. However, with Borges' tweaks of Heiko, it makes me wonder if Borges lurks here too. Some of the coaches have to be compulsive football junkies, to the point that they would find a few of the things here interesting.

I'm 100% sure that Drew Sharp is Section 1

FINALLY I know who everyone refers to when they mention there was a Lloyd Brady sighting! I've been in the dark for so long and now I see the light!
My brother had to tell me though since he was there while he was in HS. I had graduated some years before.
My avatar is me holding the sign for M's bball tourney game in Nashville this past March. Lloyd made an appearance on the sign. No one from Nashville understood the sign but everyone that knew anything about Michigan loved everything in it.
Someone at the B-School needs to fire off an acceptance letter ASAP.
"Nobody cares what you think!"
How do you explain Lloyd Brady to those that don't know? It's like trying to describe blue.
Epic piece.

Never would've guessed he could've been a DIII quarterback or that he could've walked onto Michigan's team
congrats to him for being such a good sport.
Because only now are we combining the super fan with the Internet age. Guys like the Brow at the Pistons games (and other Detroit sports), or the heckler at the Bullets games (when they were called that), and various other guys who we say "hey, there's that fan!" take on a mythology of their own now that they're not just a 2 second shot on a tv screen, but can live forever in replay and alterations online.

Lloyd Brady > Big Nut
Lloyd Brady >>>>> Buck I. Guy
Lloyd Brady is our only ubiquitous front-row fan. We need to keep him around.
Big Nut needs to lose some weight. Gotta weigh well over 400.
"And if that doesn't wet your appetite, you're watching the wrong channel."
You can usually find me bumping some Reggae, hammered on Higgins Lake with the goon squad. #HALOL
Go Blue!
He walked with a posse into the stadium before last year's game. There were about 20 people surrounding him...most likely because he was fearing for his safety. Little did he know that UM fans don't act like animals.
He was also having a hard time walking because of his incredible size. He's really far too old to be painting himself up like it's Halloween.
Big Nut just looks like a giant jackass.

We're not teaching them about sports, we're teaching them about life!
The contrast between the two fans most identified with the respective programs at UM and OSU is very revealing.
Taking it one week at a time
its going to suck seeing panning crowd shots next fall and know I won't see Lloyd in the first row.
That kind of bites.
Just give Lloyd Brady an honorary front row seat in the student section forever... Let him hold Shane Morris next year to give him some of his magic.

I see I'm finally starting to get some respect! Haha Go Bue!!!
What are the odds that this is the actual Lloyd Brady? Looks like this poster claims to be from Saginaw in a post a few weeks back, and so is Lloyd, according to the article. Plus the MGoStaff is pretty good about verifying supposedly famously people's identity (Tae Odoms coming to mind).
What I'm really asking... Will the real Lloyd Brady please stand up?

How does this kid not have a job? Clearly there has to be dozens of financial sector employers (at some level, at least) who read this blog and would clearly offer this guy a gig, no? I'm shocked. Maybe he can pull a Jamie Morris and start doing local TV ads or open up a local electronics store chain if that doesn't work out.
"Nowhere is there a better university, in any way, than this Michigan of ours."
Can we glue a Legends patch on his front row seat?
My father just walked up behind me at work while I was reading the ESPN article laughed and said, "Hey, that's a funny picture of Tom Brady." I then had to explain the phenomenon.
A great article, and an awesome little story. I have a feeling that if he ever makes it back to a game after this year, he'll find a way to be in the front row.
Yay for ESPN running this article, boo for them not showing some of those photoshopped pics... those were epic
Lloyd Brady is Michigan football
-UM class of 2018
is, shall we say, unkind to the denizens of MGOBLOG. One commentator goes out of their way to defend Section 1.
"The Ruhr will not be subjected to a single bomb. If an enemy bomber reaches the Ruhr, my name is not Hermann Göring: you can call me Urban Meyer!"
Is there a way we can honor him during the Iowa game?
"Ohio is like a giant turd that Michigan just can't pinch off"
So you're saying I still have a chance!
It's tough being Blue in Columbus!!!
So is the face palm guy also going getting profiled by ESPN?
Lloyd Brady looks (in the future) like Tom Brady does now he is going to be killing it with the ladies.
"Find a celebrity endorser. No. No. No. He's perfect." Lloyd Brady: "I am?"
awesome..The spirit of Lloyd Brady will live on. I have a feeling we will see some Lloyd Brady face masks on Saturdays next year..
Go Blue !!
That's awesome he was on his way to give his Dad a hug. He's way more cool than Superfan and that other guy near him with the funny hat. I love their passion but the Superfan outfit creeps me out a little.
Go Blue!
D.B., Send Lloyd Brady out the way he deserves. Honor that man on senior day with rest of our graduating players. Hes earned it!
Never make eye contact while eating a banana.
Too bad he's not a marketing major--he could probably figure out a way to make money just by showing up at different events.

Dreams do come true.
All in for some manball.
