The Great Wall of Tressel is coming down

I believe the Michigan-Ohio border is now open. I think you're going to see eight or nine guys from the state of Ohio going over to Michigan this year.

That's precisely what he's saying. "I expect 9-10 guys from Ohio will go to Michigan" = "9 to 10 guys from Ohio are committed to Michigan."

He's not really going out on a limb.

He may be trying to quash the popular idea among tosu fans that these Ohio players are committing to other schools to hold scholly spots until the NCAA slaps tosu on the wrist.  Then these players will supposedly come to their senses and live out their dreams at tosu.  Kalis may just be confirming that yes, these commitments are serious and these guys will be headed to Michigan regarless of the NCAA findings.

Well...I guess whatever his thought process, it doesn't matter too much.  A guy who calls the coach to commit while at midfield of Michigan Stadium is a Michigan Man.  Whatever state the kids come from, Hoke is building a monster in the trenches and I can't wait to see how this team grows over the next few years.

I love that comment.  I have OSU coworkers who tell me all the time that all of our best players come from Ohio... and they don't seem to understand it when I respond, "Who cares where they came from, they play for Michigan."  If we can continually make inroads and snag top talent out of Ohio, all the better.

What these top ohio kids are seeing is something great taking shape. Its kinda when you watch a plant grow and you say to yourself that is going to be beautiful. Well these kids are saying the same thing. I have to say the way that kyle has handled this situation contrary to the cheateye belief is he handled his situation excellently. We are so happy to have ya kyle. I have to say watching michigan football the last few years was trying times. I am excited as a diehard fan to see this team the next five or so years.

god i love that what a bunch of whiny babies...all of us should go on there and put some comments on...it has a bunch already but it is fun to hassel those morons

That comment board is saturated with people basically yelling back and forth, making terrible jokes/comebacks, and generally just being idiots. Although, most of the TSIO fans are complete fools, there are a few Michigan fans contributing to the General Disarray (go South Park). It is absolutely ridiculous. Like a bunch of petulent and prebubescent adolescants. Here is one of my favorites:

michigan still sucks, brady hoke is gonna have a heart attack on the sidelines this year...fat a$$...MUCK FICHIGAN

Stay classy Columbus.

I have a hard time enjoying OSU and MSU schadenfreude, because of all their rediculous assumtions and moronic comments. It's why I don't argue sports with OSU/MSU fans, and it's why I don't debate politics with people.

Case in point: I got into an argument with an OSU fan who was trying to argue that because Michigan's defense was terrible last year, our offense was too. No matter how many statistics or facts I gave him, he wouldn't accept it.

Kalis says 8/9 Ohio recruits will come to MI this year.  Taking stock:

Stacey, Ringer, Williams, Bolden, Brown, Gant, Strobel, Kaliks, Wilson (9)

Apparently Kalis was saying he thinks all 9 commits are going to stick.  /s

Or maybe he just mis-counted.  Seems like the gist of his comment was a few more are coming. Wormley, obvs...maybe he is in Dunn's ear?

I haven't explicity heard anything about a connection between the two, just an assumption based on they were both tsio commits.  Also, TomVH tweeted something about hearing that Kalis had been talking to an Ohio recruit but he didn't want to say which one, just connecting the dots there...

In all of this turmoil and popcorn surrounding TSIO, I find it oddly refreshing that I have heard in a couple of places (blogs or message boards) that Fickell seems to understand the trepidation and anxiety these kids are having over the NCAA penalties and doesn't seem to be straight-up lying/or at best selling them that there won't be NCAA trouble like Lane Kiffin did at USC. Signing 30 kids is reprehensible at best knowing there was a decent chance the appeal wasn't going to work. Kiffin is quite the Good Country Folk if anyone gets that reference.

Call me a worry wort or whatever, but I wish he didn't say anything about OSU.  Don't get me wrong, I love his comments about coach Hoke and the border but there is no reason he needs to egg on the people of that state with the other parts of his comments.  I am honestly worried about his safety.  Can you imagine what the nutty part of that fanbase will do with those comments about OSU.

But to a certain segment* of Buckeye Nation, it doesn't matter that he didn't say anything bad about Ohio State.  He not only committed to Michigan, but he said NICE THINGS about them.  For that, he must burn.

*By "segment," I pretty much mean everyone but Herbstreit, Spielman, and a few foreign students who don't know of 'football.'

There's a bunch of Indians/Pakistani who play cricket on the weekends on West Campus.  I have no idea if they follow Buckeye football, but I do like watching their games from time to time.  It looks like a pretty organized league; they have uniforms, a dedicated court, and everything.

His comments were fine.  There are some things that you know you don't want to say that you know are true.  His comments about not wanting to go to OSU.  We all know that but for him to say it, worries me.

It's like adding fuel to the fire.  Let the fire burn out.  It could only get worse.  I wish he would move to Michigan or move to Pa.  That state is full of nut jobs.

I don't think he added any fuel to the fire.  He said he didn't want to go to OSU.  OSU fans already know this because he decommitted and came here.  He said there is uncertainty at OSU.  OSU fans know this as well, I don't think any of them expect Fickell to be their permanent coach.  He didn't say anything new or offensive at all.

Our last two commits are the biggest yet. 1. Taking a cheateye commit. 2. Landing the best safety in ohio. To me wilsons commitment is the biggest one yet because for the simple fact he is a purebred safety. In the film i have seen he is one of the best ball hawking safetys in the country. He is the kind of guy that you can stack the box and feel comfortable with him roaming out in the deep end. With that said i still do not think i have screamed as loud as i did when i logged on sunday afternoon to see that Kyle had commited.

The open border comments tell me that his experience in Ann Arbor was very moving. Considering what a gungho OSU recruit he had been it tells me that Hoke is the real deal on recruiting.

I have a lot of respect for that kid.  Societal pressures be damned, he's doing what's right.  He's going to be a nice addition/leader for the team.  Go Blue!!!

We already hv 7 of the top 25 in the state of ohio committed so i dont really think he is going out on a limb when he says 8-9 could be comimg. We lead for wormley so that would make 8. Not to mention dunn, washington, and standeford. Its clearly in the realm of possibility.

Think that if the sanctions are light, he might return.  He said he read most of what was said about him and his family, and they think -- after that, he wants anything to do with them?
