espn front page screw up

Submitted by go16blue on

"Michigan rolled by Ball State on Saturday, but in the process, two of its quarterbacks suffered injuries"

Is it just me, or does espn do this a lot? i get that they have to cover a bunch of teams in a bunch of sports, but if you can get it right in your ticker, you can get it right on the front page of your website.

I posted this to another thread.  What a mixup by espn.  I think its kinda funny.

Nice reporting here from ESPN per usual!!! /s

You think they would actually do thier job and report that Denard "WAS" cleared to play in the second half and Tate stayed on the field and played well even though he was "injured"

Speaking of complete fiction with regards to Ball state... Everytime I hear Ball State, I think back to when they had that historic losing streak going and Dave Letterman (a Ball State alum) would give weekly Ball State highlights and announce they played at "legendary David Letterman stadium" which was always depicted by a Photoshop of the Big House with David Letterman Stadium airbrushed on the side. Completely off topic? You bet!

Maybe they'll start a Ferris Bueller-type rumor, like "I heard Denard got his left leg amputated at halftime, and now he might die of a staph infection because he banged his knee on the 48-yard line."

They kept saying "Michigan QB Robinson leaves with knee injury, will not play again today" or some such.  Which was fine, but they made it as vague as possible as if to tantalize people (who, I don't know) with the possibility that he'd be out for the season.

now they have a SN vote saying "how much should michigan be worried by DR's injury?"

most of the nation says very worried, but most of michigan says not at all. if this was at all legitimate, it would be the other way around

did the exact same thing. Tate was limping after a play so that makes him hurt even though he stayed in the game? And on the ESPN network, they made it sould like it was a serious injury.

MSN's front page has 3 stories. On the left, a picture of Iran's nuke plant. On the right, American Idol's Crystal Bowersox. In the middle? You guessed it. A grimacing Denard Robinson, with the title above; "Iran Worm, Heisman Hopeful Hurt & More". Story was a link to Fox sports, and reading it would lead you to believe that he'd be questionable for the season.

A bit sensationalist, to say the least. On the other hand, I'm glad we have a player whose (likely) minor injury would conjur up such headlines.
