I will never forget that day. I never want to see another game like it. However, I am glad that I at least got to live through such an exciting and exhilarating game.
exactly how I feel. Exhilirating, but in a situation that never should be for a Michigan team. Still, glad to have seen such a show, particularly with Ilinois sporting a top-15 defense at the time.
Particularly the last play of the game. Just seeing those 3 men charging to end it...golden. GERG made his first good call.
Well, I can say that I have been to both triple overtime games at the big house. But that Illinois game was just....bad. I celebrated and cheered with the fans around me for pulling out the win. But then walking back to the car, I really started to feel sick to my stomach over what I had just witnessed on defense.
Sometimes I wonder if GOD was punishing me for being so angry and so vocal about wanting Jim Herrman to be fired around 2004. After what I have seen on defense the last 3 years, that seems more than a little ironic.
I dunno, there were parts of that Purdue game that were kinda difficult to watch too.
i remember watching this game. what an odd feeling it was to be so happy to win but so embarassed to give up 45 pts in regulation and 65 in OT. If there was 1 game to sum up RR's tenure at its best, this was it.

I remember this game well. I watched it streaming on a widescreen computer. Ver'nice picture quality with few hiccups. I remember thinking this has been a crazy offensive game already, and OMG they're going to double...triple overtime! And of course, the 'happy ending', as they say. Finally--FINALLY--Gurgh's defense holds, and Michigan holds on to win with the unprecedented B1G score, 67-65. A terrifying and yet monumental day for athletics in this part of the country.
I'm glad I got to experience the game while immersed in the 'blogosphere' culture here on Mgoblog and throughout the rest of the interwebs. The analysis and general forum dialogue here had and continues to have interesting things to day, in addition to the obligatory Go Blues, Bo's, and ffuuuuuuuuu's of the blog.
I remember tearing my entire apartment apart during this game. My favorite michigan hat, my remote control, my tall beer glass, and the drywall just behind my chair all suffered the wrath that i wanted to impart upon GERG that day. I fixed the hole in the drywall, but i never blended it perfectly back into the wall, that way i would never forget the torment of that day and that man.
What a roller coaster of a game to be at. Gonna be honest, I was about as unhappy with that win as one can be. That amount of points against is unacceptable.

Tate was an exciting player to watch, but I'm not going to miss all his drama-queen antics off the field.
OMG that game. I had to watch on TV while my kid took the ticket to see it in person with his grandpa.
In the end, what was just as memorable as the game was finding them in the crowd to drive them home afterwards.
They are 63 years apart in age, but were equally wild-eyed, hoarse, and exhilarated. They could hardly sit still in the car; I think they could have pushed the thing home with the parking brake engaged.
