that is the link to the Demar Dorsey's backup plan article. My point is that this is the 3rd time in just a couple weeks that I've seen something posted on the ESPN blog days after reading it on MGoBlog. Could it be that Adam Rittenberg is a reader of MGoBlog? And that MGoBlog is even one of his top sources? Or just maybe MGoBlog readers get news faster than Rittenberg. Thoughts?
Brian is the leading source for ESPN. I even heard Rittenberg has Brian on speed dial for emergencies.

Now the question is, "What is his username?" My guess is "Not Rittenberg" or something to that extent.
Given the amount of hits this site gets, I'm sure Rittenberg knows it exists and peruses it from time to time.
That being said, If "news breaks" on this site before it goes totally mainstream I'm sure he takes note and attempts to verify the facts before he posts it on ESPN.
So yeah, in essence, someone who covers the Big Ten full time probably reads popular Big Ten blogs and writes about newsworthy information gleaned from them.

Rittenberg links to MGoBlog all the time. He's not shy about being a reader here. I wouldn't doubt that he gets some of his info here, and at other blogs. He is the Big Ten blogger and has to cover 11 schools. Brian is a Michigan blogger and covers one, with the help of people who follow the site. To think that Brian hears about something before Rittenberg isn't all that surprising.

I remember him having a link to Shredder's blog and the awesome Tate - Mike Tyson punch out MS Paint. Perhaps he saw that here and followed the link? I've also seen some stuff from BHGP on there too.

Ive always preferred to read the local blogs and news sources before ESPN when it comes to my Detroit sports. I'll go to ESPN for the more national news.
I know some people dont liek MLive but I find MLive to be very reliable when it comes to news for the Tigers, Lions and Pistons however MGoBlog is always #1 for my UofM sports news!
What is impressive is that not only does MGoBlog routinely beat out ESPN, I also found out about the fires in Ann Arbor from here. I got the Crime Alert about 3 hours later.
Doesn't he have a list on the side of the Big Ten Blog with links to each teams biggest blogs?
