My favorite blurb... 'He describes himself as a conservative and says he is worried about government involvement in business and health care. "Why does the government have to be involved in everything we do?"' - kinda like why do parents need to be involved with everything the coach does?

Apparently, now that he's messed things up at Tech, he's anxious to get after the rest of the state as well...

Good Luck!!

As a conservative state, Texas will have its share of conservative candidates running in the primary (one source has 6-9 republican-labeled candidates potentially running). If the state as a whole truly hates James, it does not necessarily mean they will vote for a liberal candidate.

Also, I believe this all depends on if current Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison challenges fellow Republican Rick Perry for the Governor's office. I agree, it seems like bad timing and an uphill battle for Craig James.

I've often thought he looks like a politician; take that however you like. When people say someone looks "presidential" I can see that applying to him.
What myrtle... quoted is incredibly ironic, thanks for that.

Alot of people in Texas are pissed off at James right now. Alot of Tech alumni throughout the state and they are not happy. Here in West Texas, James will be lynched if he shows his face publicly. His timing for a Senate run is very poorly timed.

Then this is the fuc((( stupidest thing I've heard all week, with the possible exception of the Leach firing itself.

BTW, Some guys are just perfect fits for their schools, and Leach was that for Texas Tech; I really doubt they'll get another guy who can do as well, and I am looking forward to seeing Texas Tech fail and laughing at the hubris of their administrators. They just killed the goose that laid the golden eggs, and they will probably find they took the school marketing benefits of the football program for granted.

Not merely unelectable, profoundly unlikeable.
Once he finds out how much $$ it would take to run a statewide race in that many media markets, he'll pass.

Unfortunately sometimes this is the case.

Craig James' message will be heard, especially now after his name is fresh in the mind of all Texans, whether they like him or not for this incident.

It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out.

He's inane enough to be a politician. But this is more a way to build political name recognition during a failed campaign and then run for lower, state-wide office or a US Rep next.
