I disagree. If you lay a big hit and are naturally over a guy I think that is fine. If you hit someone then have to change your trajectroy to stand over them to look tough that's not.
On ESPN at 3pm: Trotwood-Madison ('13 recruit Mike McCray) vs. University (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
...but I thought he was talking about the call for the spike of the ball after the McCray strip.
The taunting foul had to be called. You can't walk four steps out of your way to stand over a guy behind the other team's bench.
I was referencing the flag for spiking the ball.
My apologies. I probably blanked that one out because I didn't agree with it either.
Ed. Gave you some "I'm sorry you are right" upvotes.
Three straight turnovers for Trotwood to start the second half.
Do kids not drink fluids these days? What is up with the cramps? I know it is hot and they are losing a lot through sweet but wow.
Yeah this is getting pretty ridiculous. And it's the team from Florida that's cramping up. Wouldn't expect that. It's gotten to the point where that will be a serious issue for them in the 4th quarter. Trotwood should try to capitalize on this and run the football.
EDIT: Well, that still doesn't work for Trotwood....
Wow, Burrows makes one tackle on a screen pass and they spend the next two minutes talking about how awesome Meyer is and Ohio State. Meanwhile, Burrows gets beat deep the very next play (overthrown unfortunately though).
Illinois pitching a tent for Trotwood-Madison. Come on guys!
They saw the way that Roundtree destroyed them on that opening play a few years ago & figured they would swoop in...
Needs some serious work...
Wow. McCray just destroyed the FB to make a TOS. And then follows that up by taking on an OL and blowing up a screen pass; almost made the tackle while getting tackled by the OL. Resulted in a hold so a really positive play by McCray.
he recognized the screen, beat the block, and was held. He couldn't make the tackle, but that was in part because the offensive lineman was holding him.
That was a great series for McCray.
I'm shocked that University School's QB only has one offer from Western Illinois. He has a pretty good arm, mechanics and size.
I mean, how many offers from Western Illinois do you think he should have?
I'm sure interest will pick up once there's some film available on him.
I think they mentioned that he's also gotten a couple of baseball offers but I don't remember who they were from.
McCray with a couple more tackles this drive so far. Unfortunately for Trotwood, the RB's are getting two the second level often.
Although Trotwood is not the nicest town, the school is ginormous. Plus their football stadium looks like a Texas High School's facility. It is big enough for them to host regional track championships & the like.
It was kind of a sleepy place, a town where the most important businesses were the grain elevator and the lumber yard. Sprawl from Dayton has overrun it and now it's like any inner-ring suburb...except that the sleepy town is still tucked away over there in the corner, with a lot of the same families that lived there a hundred years ago.
Most people think of Trotwood and they imagine Salem Mall; they've probably never been to the original town.
