Erik Magnuson The B-Ball Player
A couple nights ago, Magnuson had 2 pts, 17 rebounds and blocked a shot at the buzzer in OT to help his team win the game by 1 pt. When asked what kind of player he is, Erik said his job is not to score but play D and rebound, obviously he's doing that with these stats.
My reason for this post is to indicate that it is always good to have an athletic Tackle and I'm really glad we got Magnuson. Football Players who also play B-Ball is awesome in my opinion, I believe it will translate really well on the field, especially at the OL positions.

The Men's team here could use a rebounder like this.

Dennis Rodman-esque

seems more like Ben Wallace. the Worm actually had some game on the offensive side of the ball. Big ben was a liability.

The Worm was a freak like no other. Still one of my favorite Pistons of all time.

one of the better nicknames

Rodman averaged 7 points per game in his NBA career, and averaged over 10 in a season once (he averaged 11 that year). Rodman didn't have much of an offensive game at all. Maybe there was someone else that was nicknamed The Worm that I am not aware of?

Is this for his high school team? I pose this question, because if a player plays in the Army All-American game they are usually not allowed to play spring sports or something of that sort. So I was wondering how he was able to play high school basketball as well as play in the big All-American game.

California doesn't have dumb rules like that.

That's a MHSAA rule. Most states I know of don't have that prohibition. I grew up in GA and know for sure that GA and surrounding states didn't have that rule. Similar to how OH and PA play their annual game. This is why you don't see a MI-OH HS all star game. I think MI is more the exception than the rule in this regard.

Will give respect to Rodman's game, but please never compare any of our incoming lineman to a man who appeared publicly in a wedding dress wearing lipstick....just sayin'

Jon Jansen (one of the best LT in Michigan history in my opinion) played basketball in high school and was planning to walk on to the team at Michigan. I think he gave up on walking on when it became apparently that the skill sets needed for both sports were diverging and he had NFL potential. But I was hoping for a 6'7" 315 pound power forward like Jansen to play a few minutes per game with his athleticism.

IIRC, back in '95 there were calls from several quarters for John Runyan to suit up after Traylor got injured in the infamous Explorer rollover. He'd been a HS basketball star (I think) and would have helped the team at least a little bit.
