An Epic RichRod Glare

Submitted by MGoShoe on

I've been waiting for this ever since I saw this tweet last night from Tom Leyden of WXYZ:

TomLeyden The glare Rich Rodriguez directed at Drew Sharp today when Drew asked Brandon if Rich might be fired was one for the ages. #Michigan

Leyden has now delivered the goods, and they're good.

TomLeyden The glare from #Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez to Drew Sharp when Drew asked if Rich might be fired. http://twitpic.com/346dlg

That glare is Lloyd Carr-esque. I wonder if that's what he means by Hard Edge? Nice suit/tie combo as well.

Because it would accomplish nothing other than to look like sour grapes on Michigan's part. Stooping to their level, if you will. I don't like any of it one bit either. We fans all want to issue a big "fuck you!" to the Freep. But a move like pulling the Freep's creds is not DB's style, and would do nothing but give them more fodder for hating on us.

but I disagree with you 1.6 billion percent.

Covering Michigan football (i.e. Michigan putting it's players and it's coaches out there for you to grill) is a privilege that can, and should be, revoked, not a right.

These a-holes stirred stuff up, mis-represented stories, distorted facts and outright lied, in an attempt to what?  Sell papers?  Keep their jobs while getting someone else fired on fabricated or trumped charges?

They don't deserve to keep their credentials, but revoking them just gives them the attention they crave (and likely would lead to even more program-bashing).  Better to just take the high road and have them look classless in comparison.

I hope he ignores sharp's questions at press conferences from here on out.  How funny would it be if RR acted like he didn't even hear the question and moved on to another reporter?

Yes, I'm still bitter when it comes to the Freep.  Fuck them.

Has to be calculating right? I mean, The things he says, when he says them, has to be for maximum effect to draw readers, attention...whatever the hell is it he's shooting for.

That or he is just a world class douchewad.

This picture needs to become a discussion ender.  This is the "The End" title card.

And we also need to place it side by side with the best glares of Coach Carr.

Rich Rodriguez is an innovator of the glare option attack. When the comment was made, he has the option to either shrug it off as if it didn't even phase him or give the comment maker the glare of death. I'd say he made a great read. Many others have adapted his glare option attack to fit their personnel and situation, most notably with the infamous shoe dodge "smirk" option attack.

Can't you see them trumpeting their 'woe is me' censorship angle if they were disallowed in order to hustle their shit-rags to a few more M haters in the state?
