Enjoyment and Injuries

Submitted by yvgeni on
This could be one of the greatest CFB days ever... We win. Sparty is embarasseed. Tennessee loses. If OSU goes down, my head might just asplode! But since I am a eternal pessimist, I'm very concerned about our injuries. Double check me, but we have injuries to our starting RB, and two of our top 3 WRs? Don't know if we can afford to have both Stonum and Hemingway out for any extended period of time.

Minor is pretty obviously fine now, Hemingway has a fairly mild sprain and with good sports medicine should be back and fine at the LATEST by the Indiana game. Don't know about Stonum, but it looked like just a pulled hamstring to me.

...correct me if I'm wrong but I swear I saw Stonum on the field after his injury - of course my vision was a bit blocked (row 2) and it could've been savoy (82?). BTW the big house was LOUD. Loud as in it rivaled a BLS concert and Metallica at the Joe.

Agree... The injuries are concerning. I mentioned this in another thread, but w/ Hemingway and Stonum out of the game, seemed like our WR depth has a pretty steep dropoff after those 2 and Matthews.... It now makes much more sense that RR is recruiting so many WRs. Hopefully they get healthy. Hemingway was dynamic last week. Does anyone know if Moosman got back in the game after his injury? I don't think he did but not sure. Plus, any injury in our starting secondary is worrisome. Hopefully we get healthy soon and stay healthy, and as another poster said, it's snacky-cake heaven for the next 2 weeks so that should help us as far as recuperation.

I think Stonum will be okay for next week. Hemingway was questionable for this week, so he should be good to go by the time we have another big game (or perhaps even by next week). Williams is the bigger concern. Kovacs played well, but we can't afford for Williams to be gone too long.
