Enhanced Viewing of Defensive UFR for Nebraska Game

Submitted by WolverineBlue on

The UFR viewer web app is now available for viewing the Defensive "Upon Further Review" report for the Nebraska game. Video links are provided to all plays, thanks to MGoVideo.com.

So, do you manage to do this in the 20 minutes after the UFR is posted (in which case that's crazy fast), or do you get an "advance copy" of the UFR?

I don't get an advance copy, but I have a program that detects when the UFR is posted on MGoBlog and copies the UFR table to a file. The UFR viewer can read and interpret the UFR table exactly as posted on MGoBlog.

The trickier part is the video cueing. I have to preview the video clips and assign the time codes using a dummy version of the UFR table. When the real UFR table is available, it should mesh with the video index file. It doesn't always because of uncharted plays, etc. so I try to verify that they are in synch before posting the files. That is why it takes 20-30 minutes instead of 5.

I sometimes make additional adjustments after posting. For example, the last two Nebraska drives were not charted in the original UFR, but I added some placeholder entries so that the videos can still be accessed from the viewer.
