Elite 11: Day One

Submitted by Bodogblog on

Elite 11 Day One is in the books, and there are a couple of quick previews out there.  Brandon Peters seems to have performed quite well, with only a few small criticisms of the speed of his drop and a slow start keeping him from the top.

OregonLive has him as an Honorable Mention:

247 gives him his own category, has pretty high praise:

Scout's got him in the top group, really liked him today:

Was one of the most consistent passers all morning. Was just hot from the get-go on day one. Looked athletic and threw the ball with very little effort. The Michigan commit really dropped the ball into the basket for receivers and it looks like the Wolverines have a lot to be excited about.

Brandon Peters is on FIRE here at #Elite11 this morning. He’s my early #1. #Michigan commit. @SamWebb77 @AllenTrieu @BriceMarich #GoBlue

There is a 247 thread with updates throughout the day, gives a lot of the same info. summarized above.  It's most entertaining for the Sparty poster kicking rocks in the corner and wondering why no one's talking about his QB. DeWeaver is finally mentioned.

taking joy in a high schooler that has been recognized as one of the top 16 in the country in a negative way is not a good look. Very little brother actually.

sparty FAN kicking rocks in the corner because there aren't many mentions of DeWeaver, presumably because he isn't standing out at the event.  That's not a knock on DeWeaver, that's laughing at the fan whining about the lack of mention of the QB committed to his team.

Edit, well apparently the OP edited his post to remove remarks that I didn't see.  Carry on.

Who the fuck cares about DeWeaver? Why the hell would you harp on the failings of a 17 yr old kid? Stop being a fucking asshole. He is of absolutely no importance to us, leave it alone.

Dwayne Haskins #3. Glad he didn't pick OSU but I think that kid could make Maryland a team to reckon with. His film is awesome. So smooth.

I'd actually prefer you not to mention deweaver at all. Youngster could've had a bad day but bc he is a state commit we should make fun of him? I don't think so, I couldn't tell you one other player they have commited to them because I don't give a shit about who they have. I care about what we have and what they can become.

Now you made him delete the snark, which you claim made him a "fucking asshole", and I have no clue wtf is going on; it's like I'm "a child wandering into a conversation with no frame of reference- also, Dude, Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature, its Asian-American please."

But for what it's worth someone with a username of "ghostofhoke" probably shouldn't give advice on "moving on".

but I'm more offended by some of these recruiting reporters that try to talk young and hip. there are a few on twitter I had to unfollow because their tweets gave me douche chills. if you're over 30, don't try and talk slang that 16 year olds use. you look pathetic

Michigan fans need to remember what its like to be winners. Not holding grudges, not being petty, not keeping scores.

deWeaver is not on the team, oh well. I'm quite confident we'll be pretty ok at qb. The freep wrote an article a million years ago that wasn't fair, oh well, we've recovered. The 49ers werent nice to our dream coach, he'll be ok.

Trust me, you'll be a lot happier embracing a winning mentality.

I don't think we should make a point about MSU does lest we end up like the RCMB with a couple hundred page thread about what Harbaugh's up to but I think we can get back to giving little digs here and there to them or Ohio State. Some people on here seem hyper sensitive to it but it's a rivalry and we don't like them and they don't like us. It makes the board more fun when everybody realizes that and becomes less stuffy and loosens up.

Hackenburg...

Interesting comment on him in that second article...He may be the biggest wildcard in the B1G. IF he gets protection and a decent offense around him PSU will be a factor. They prob will not win the B1G East but I wouldn't be surprised if they pull an upset or two during the season.

A lot of these articles are fluff fluff fluff. You really can't glean much from it. It's a steady stream of "he's one of the best guys here." Well, duh. The only guy who's not "one of the best" is the guy who's the worst.

So many of you are now afraid to chirp a bit and talk some junk about other team...If you are going to brag when you are winning you need to step up and say the same when losing...fair weather trash talking is lame!

It's like most of you fear saying something that might inspire the couch burners...too late, they have built up enough hate over that last 70 years to trash talk UM regardles of how nicely we talk on our boards...

Go out on top, rivialries aren't made of gentleman conversations, it's back alley threats!
