EJ Levenberry Update

Submitted by RollDamnTide on
I know I said that I wouldn't do recruiting updates anymore, but I thought I'd share some info on EJ. Turns out FSU will be visiting EJ today in Virginia. This is really interesting to me, because the analysts closest to the Levenberry family, have all said he's a FSU lean at this point. If he's a FSU lean, that appears to be news to the FSU staff. People I've spoken with in the south say it's rare that a school confident about a recruit, make this much of a last minute visit. This is hardly inside info, but this appears to be odd behavior from his prohibited leader. I don't know Coach Hoke's recruiting philosophy, although I can't imagine he'd let FSU have the last visit, unless he knew something no one else did. I'd say this could be a good sign for the Wolverines. Good luck, boys.

Eh, good recruiters leave nothing to chance.  They could just be trying to seal the deal rather than come from behind.

Regardless...I think you should give your weekly updates again.

Think he's all Noles.

EJ is a luxury for the class though, not a necessity.  Would much rather have Poggi and another DT/DE type than a SLB given last year's, this year's class.

PS Keep posting RDT.  We need something to do besides talk about law school.

Tuesday can not come soon enough. I am feeling like FSU is the favorite, but hell the speculation is always fun. I hope he goes blue, but in any other case good luck to him  where ever he lands at.

Haters gonna hate.  I think it was pretty evident that most of this board really enjoyed your nation-wide perspective on recruiting and learning about some battles the SEC giants were having.  Come on back RDT.

Maybe its just me but my criticism was directed towards the community taking RDT's updates as gold, even going as far as quoting him in other sites. I also would like to see the updates come back but if they do I would just encourage the mgo community to maintain perspective with his info

Someone's going to look pretty stupid on Tuesday, what with all the "insider information" from various sources and boards that have him going to one school or another.  We shall see...

"Someone's going to look pretty stupid on Tuesday"......

Agreed.  And then come Wednesday people will completely forget who that someone was.  Hell weathermen mock recruiting guru's ability to be wrong consistently with no fallout.

Maybe Garnett was like this, but I don't remember a recruit where so many insider sources fell on one side or another...RDT isn't alone, Sam Webb sounded pretty positive this morning...but the $ board recruiting sites that AAB is reading have him FSU bound. It just that a lot of people seem really sure that the opposite thing is going to happen from the other.

But recruiting is a numbers game, and quickly forgotten. Today's recruits are tomorrow's players that people are hoping get replaced by the hot prospect NEXT year. (Some of still remember how excited we were to get you Devin....)

he's headed to FSU.  he has told several people as much.  not enough confidence to BKFinest/Raback it, but confident enough to pass along the info.  of course it is possible that the kid had a change of heart.

Appreciate the info RDT, but this may be par for the course with Jimbo.  One of my buddies who is a rabid FSU fan:

"Keep in mind, Jimbo is from the Saban tree and Saban was just scrutinized in the media for writing a recruit like 50 letters in one day. They put the full court press on all the time. For example (although not an ideal outcome), Aaron Lynch was an FSU commitment at the time of the Army AA Game and FSU sent the entire staff to watch the game and was in his hotel meeting with him and his family until ~9pm or so. And for their marquee recruits they still send coaches the maximum amount of times for visits even after they’ve committed. We had a 5* JUCO O-Line commitment last year (turned out he was horrible, but beside the point) and our OL coach was taking weekly flights to North Dakota where his Junior College was. "

Just to be clear, FSU will be visiting EJ's school today to meet with his coaches and, under NCAA guidelines, only incidental contact with the kid is permitted. In home visits are not allowed at this time.

I'm with everyone else, please bring back the updates RDT. I may not post very much, but as the usual million times a day visitor to MGoBlog, I really enjoyed the content you provided, as did much of the community. You should consider this thread as a petition for you to reinstate the updates from before.

A shout out to RollDamnTide, keep up your outstanding work and insight.... don't let others dissuade you.  Your material is by far the most interesting to me, as you have a great insight and view.

I completely share your sentiment,  especially after having read an article with our beloved TomVh last week.... one could really read between the lines about his and his parents comments, if one puts them into proper context in the visit....

Levenberry is ours.
