"I love it that Ivy League coaches are coming to our camp and Big Ten coaches are coming to our camp. South Florida is coming. We've got about 70 schools that are coming to our camp."
The Kyle Kalis bridge was burned, there was no going back for him. Not after what those psycho Ohio fans were saying to him..
Everyone claims the tide has turned, blah blah blah. The hell it has
You must not have gotten the memo about the Night Jerseys. They sold like hotcakes in Ohio
we return 15-16 starters. they return less than that. and we beat them this year. so we should be favored to win again next year. then we get them back at home the following year.
and i think you are underestimating this class. we already have some serious talent at areas of need, OL, LB and DL. 2013 will be key to grab a stud WR and RB and typically, those positions can play from day 1.
the worst part of the RR years is that it produced a bunch of people that will upvote defeatist crap like this. first year coaches always recruit well, and urban meyer is 0-1 against michigan. save your crying until something bad happens.
Hoke beat the only Ohio team he has had the oppurtunity to beat. Don't hold that against him. The momentum was on our side during the summer when WE WERE SIGNING EVERYONE! It has simply just balanced out and we have very comparable classes....as expected always between the two schools. Lastly, the field is all that matters. Ask John Cooper how those top 5 classes worked for him on the field.
Muller is reconsidering his Rutgers selection too.
I bet Rutgers beats us out as well.
Wow...what happened to commitment day? Didn't expect the night to end on this note.
Does Purdue have any recruits we can steal?
Meyer will then just steal them from us.
Please tell me you're joking. Meyer hasn't taken anyone away from us.
Yes, I'm joking.
Your avatar seems to be missing something.
You're quicker than I am. I was just editing my original post because I realized you've been around longer than I have. My apologies.
And pants, he's missing pants.
Also a penis.
Maybe it's just tiny.
dion witty from Fla. he must be related to the kid we wanted a couple years ago.
If we don't get a 5th OL in this class it will be a big fail.
Mattison: "Well, Hoke, we've had the devil's own day, haven't we?"
Hoke: "Yes." (Takes a pull from his cigar.) "Lick 'em tomorrow, though."
Onward, men. To Vicksburg.
. . . .and now the trifecta:
- Kozan to Iowa,
- Reeves to Ohio State,
- Madaris to Michigan State.
Good thing we did not lose to Ohio State in hoops or anything like that. 'Cause then my Sunday would be really shitty.
I am so suprised how many 50 50 posts we struck out on recently. I am probably over reacting, but I feel like it is just a way a kid can politely say I do not really want to go to your school, All the while knowing very well they have no intentions in signing with one of the 50 50's.
We will close Diamond, Grant, Henry and probably one more unexpected recruit and everyone will be happy. This is temporary hardship.
I have to say the way Team 132 played showed me a lot. Michigan doesn't just recruit talent, they build leaders and best. It's not just a slogan or a punchline - I love the kids who have committed and I hope we land some more but I'm not going to be upset by OSU out recruiting or any such nonsense. John Cooper routinely out recruited us but the type of players MIchigan used to recruit and will recruit again and the fire that this staff has to win with toughness and integrity will show up on the football field.
Team 132 which isn't even close to as talented as Team 136 and 137 will be just went 11-2. I'm not afraid of OSU - they had owned us for 8 years. They should be afraid of us. They better out recruit because they aren't going to out smart us and they aren't going to out play us. That I can guarantee.
Oh what's the point of being rational? Meyer is going to go 140-0 while at Ohio.
Goodbye, cruel world.
/jumps off a cliff
Seeing as he can't go to a bowl next year, he'll only go 139-0.
Ah, but he also can't go to the Big 10 championship game either. 138-0
for being rational.
Just an all around bad day for UM sports
I hope he tears his pants!
While I'm on a roll here, (I'm 3 for 3), I'm saying Grant to Oklahoma, Muller to Rutgers, Diamond to Wisconsin, Henry to Illinois, and Diggs to Auburn. Michigan will end its class at 23 and bank for the next one, without filling needs at WR, C, OT, DT, and CB.
What the hell has happened?!
Hookers and cash, my friend.
Hookers and cash.
at least you didn't say kalis flips to osu and the farmington kids flip to msu...
Shittiest recruiting weekend ever!
I don't give a damn that we received some verbal committs six months ago! Its a what have you done for me lately world and right now Hoke & Co. couldn't close a f'ckn front door!
Yep, those 11 4* and 5* players who committed last year don't count. Everyone knows the players who commit around signing day are the best. Why do we even try? Just forefeit to Ohio for the next ten years and save ourselves the embarrassment.
Bring on alabama lulz
We could use some good ole Michigan football to get this sour taste out of our mouths.
Shane is probably saying... "Damn, no centers"... Gulp
Reeves is the first real commit that Meyer "beat" Hoke on in a head-to-head recruiting match. It was going to happen at some point. Hoke will win his share, too. Reeves doesn't affect my view of the 2012 class, but it's unusual because Michigan was talking to Reeves a lot longer than Ohio, and Hoke and Mattison both put time in with Reeves. Combine this with Ohio's NCAA sanctions, including a bowl ban, and generally tarnished reputation for being corrupt for a decade, and it's a head-scratcher. But, hey, if the kid didn't want to come to Michigan, then I am glad he didnt commit, because Michigan doesn't need another "fail and bail" DB story for a long time.
I still trust Mattison to survey the defense for what he wants, and the momentum from consistent winning happens in 2013, not 2012. Beat Alabama and Ohio next season and the Michigan "brand" will be completely solid come NSD for 2013.
That's all that really matters. Hoke & Co. exceeded expectations in 2011 and they can do it again.
We're the only blog on the planet to have a rival school's player on the front page of our site - for DAYS.
"The curse of Sullinger" - hard at work today. Not sure if anyone else was bothered by this, but honestly it's kind of annoying... lol. What a shitty day. Can't wait for a full week or work and to hear about more recruits not picking us... da fuck!!!!!!!!!
Who in their right mind would choose Iowa over Michigan... after I heard this I literally sat at the computer for about 5 minutes trying to think of any reason why someone would chose a cornfield in the middle of BF nowhere vs. the big house. I can see Stanford, but Iowa... jebus... the planets are not aligned tonight.
The NFL loves how Ferentz prepares their offensive linemen.
If we had no info on this class until signing day everyone would be saying, oh wow, what an awesome class! So we missed out on some last minute big name recruits. The 2013 class is looking great. May be next year Hoke will put more icing on the cake with signing more of these last minute big name recruits? Overall, I'm quite pleased with Hoke's recruiting class of 2012 and 2013 may even be better. We will definitely be in the mix for the B1G title and BCS bowls in the years to come, given our infusion of talent!
I'm thinking Hoke should institute a new rule that all recruits who commit verbally not do so and only announce that they have committed in the last week of january. That way he will be a closer!!! YAY! COFFEE!!!
We havnt gained a recruit in months and guess what we lost one...........Hoke cannot close to save his life hopefully coaching and performance on the field will trump that but my god Recruing is huge and we have no one left thats a class changer................How do u lose to ohio with all the penalties they have what a joke................
