EDIT - Jabari Parker to Duke (wheew)

ESPN Player Profile

It has been said that it is between MSU and Duke, with Duke being the favorite.  I know some of you are all about the BIG being stronger and want him to land at MSU, but I would rather not see Michigan play against this kid two times a year.

6'8" 220 lbs, SF.  He is currently the #2 recruit in the nation for the class of 2013.

As a junior, Parker was named the ESPNChicago.com Player of the Year, Illinois' Mr. Basketball and the national Gatorade Player of the Year. He averaged 19.5 points, 8.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 3.3 blocks and 1.4 steals a game.

edit - MSU prematurely (common for them) came out with an article saying Parker to MSU around 2:30 ET. LINK (It has been taken down, but you can still see the title)

I hope he goes to State. Fuck Duke.

I am looking forward to epic battles between MSU and Michigan this year and in the coming years, not to mention the great contests of the last few years. Beilein has changed the tide of the rivalry.....

If he's watched any Bball this year I can't imagine he'd head to EL. That said, who knows what the hell any of these 17-18 year old kids do.

Maybe God will give him a call before 4 pm.

In any regard I woudn't worry about playing him more than 3 times. He's not going to be around longer than that. Unless the 4th is in the Final Four, then that would be a nice problem to have.

Sounds like MSU has done as good a job as can be expected recruiting him, and he sounds like a good kid. But I never thought us being good would make them suck. Just glad we're back to battling.

Doesn't matter...either he is over-rated or, if he does live up to the hype, he's a one and done. The third option is both--over-rated and leaving after freshman year anyway (i.e., Nerlens Noel).

I'm sure M fans are just DYING to know the school of choice for a kid who is not considering the Wolverines. This post was so great to read.

I'm floored by folks who are rooting for him to go to East Lansing? You guys serious? I never root for Ohio State, MSU, and ND to land elite kids in any sport. Everyone else = secondary in hate.

we will beat them both. Hell, let 'em combine their best kids in one team and we'll still beat 'em. Hell, let 'em have God on their team and we'll STILL beat 'em.

Reading the sports illustrated piece about him earlier this year, he honestly seems like a great kid who would go to school for four years... With that being said, please go to Duke or BYU. MSU would be landing a truly elite talent who would make them very good.
Either way, I wish him luck and all the happiness in the world for his decision. Welcome to the first day to the rest of your life young man.

If he's as good as advertised, I have a hard time believing he will hold off on being a high lottery pick.  It's not just passing up the immediate dollars, but he would also be pushing out the time until he can sign his first max contract.

The kid goes to Simeon, so I'm guessing the family isn't wealthy.

It's easier to talk about staying in school than it is to turn down millions of dollars.

and now that UM is back, well, there is no room for MSU in college basketball.

Let the melt down begin.  This is the best Christmas present any Michigan fan could want.  They dog us out for missing a 5* kid or two.  They missed on the savior today.

I would hate to be a moo u fan.  They have nothing to live for.
