Edit: The Indiana Goes Down @ Home to Ohio State...We Have a Chance...Beat Purdue Thread

Submitted by B-Nut-GoBlue on

Big potential looms large tonight (for those of you on the Moon, the potential is that we still have a shot at a Big Ten Title if Indiana loses tonight and we beat them Sunday, AFTER beatin Purdue tomorrow night).  We essentially become big Ohio State fans for the second year in a row.  They can pull it off, but will they?  Tune in at 9:00 on the Big Ten Network brought to you by Rotel and "I've got your 6", and find out.  EDIT: Ignore that garbage, it's on ESPN.  Sowwy.

Iowa has Illinois at home, as we speak.  This would have been a huge game for Iowa if they hadn't lost to Nebraska last week.  Now it's merely, meh-big.  Doug Gotlieb (spelling?) now on CBS Sports, has Iowa as a Last Four In; he's the only one (except for possbily me, if they can win two BTT games).

Duke at Virginia Tech, as we speak.

Arkansas at Mizzou, as we speak (if anyone is interested in Arkansas).  Arkansas is a Bubble Team to many analysts.  This would be a big Win for them.

Ugh.  Go Buckeyes.

Gives us a shot at earning a game for the title by beating Purdue. Also, hard roar me to see how Ohio is not on the three line, or maybe the two line. Not impossible for there to be three B10 teams on the two line, with another on the three.

The losses to Wisconsin and Penn State continue to hurt more and more. But Indiana is just begging us to win a share of the title.

I know they don't owe us anything, but I'm praying Burke and Co. take care of business tomorrow. Life doesn't normally just hand you second chances like this.

All the teams tied with us are going to be cheering for us the rest of the week. Except maybe Sparty - if they lose to Wisconsin they'll probably be the biggest haters of all.

But if Wisconsin wins out, I think they get the 1 seed, as they'd be at 11-5 and have a 3-1 record against UM, IU, and OSU. OSU would be 2nd at 3-3, and UM and IU would be tied at 2-3, but I think IU would get the 3 seed, as they have a 2-0 record against the 5th team (MSU).

In the above scenario, we'd get the 3 seed, as OSU would have a better record against the #5 team (1-1 vs Wisco, against our 0-1).

Really weird that that one Indiana team (1983) got its own Big Ten banner and all the other champs are crowded together.  That seems like a slap in the face to the other championship teams.

It was supposedly a homage to the fans. Indiana had lost their best player at the start of the 1983 season and coach Knight requested the fans to really come out and support them as they were needed more than ever and when Indiana managed to win the Big Ten title, a separate banner was created.

Buckeyes did not screw up. Mild sense of satisfaction felt.
