Eddie Lacy sprained knee and twists ankle Edit. Rumor of acl tear.
August 19th, 2012 at 8:51 PM ^
That's awful for him and for us. I want to beat Alabama at full strength, no excuses!
August 19th, 2012 at 8:54 PM ^
That's just like your opinion, man.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:43 PM ^
where you're going with that and I don't completely disagree, but I couldn't care less what strength they're at as long as we win.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:51 PM ^
So you would be disappointed if Nick Saban suffered a massive heart attack during the game, died on the field and Alabama forfeited? I probably wouldn't. Especially if the heart attack happened right after a long Denard TD.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:57 PM ^
Everyone knows that Saban doesn't have a heart.
August 19th, 2012 at 10:18 PM ^
Don't compare Saban to The Grinch. I actually like The Grinch.
August 19th, 2012 at 11:07 PM ^
The Grinch is more like Dantonio anyway.
August 20th, 2012 at 12:31 AM ^
I always thought of Dantonio as more like The Gimp.
August 20th, 2012 at 11:06 AM ^
Who is Zed?
August 19th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
I would certainly be saddened if Alabama's head coach suffered a massive heart attack and died.
August 19th, 2012 at 10:43 PM ^
Is this RCMB? Of course we'd be disappointed. Nick Saban is a human being with friends and a family that loves him. There's more to life than football.
August 19th, 2012 at 11:09 PM ^
Like what?
August 20th, 2012 at 10:04 AM ^
Like knowing that we too can't not die in a freak gasoline fight accident
August 20th, 2012 at 10:43 AM ^
I just want to beat Alabama, period. Maybe one day when our '12 & '13 classes are upperclassmen, we'll be able to be choosey about beating teams at full strength.
August 19th, 2012 at 8:54 PM ^
I could pretend that I wanted to play against him, but to be honest...I do not at all...
However, hearing about injuries for any player is always really sad... This year was his chance to be the 'next man' in line at Bama.... Here's to a quick recovery, Eddie...
August 19th, 2012 at 8:57 PM ^
TJ Yeldon scares me just as much behind that offensive line
Also bothers the shit out of me that chances are pretty high we see Dee Hart rush against us.. I hope we bottle him up.
August 19th, 2012 at 8:58 PM ^
Running the ball sometimes is the easy part. It is the blocking and picking up blitzes that can sometimes get young RBs in trouble.
Yeldon's advantage is that he was an early enrollee though.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:00 PM ^
That said, TJ Yeldon is good but he has to sit at some point and it gives us an advantage to not have to face a fresh Lacy when he does
August 19th, 2012 at 9:19 PM ^
That said, TJ Yeldon is good but he has to sit at some point
Isn't a Yeldon a true freshman making his career debut against us? People are talking about him like he's a proven commodity.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:50 PM ^
he had almost 200 all purpose yards (90 rushing 88 receiving) in the Bama spring game.
While this is not a proven commodity, that speaks volumes to his talent and ability.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:54 PM ^
Are we really counting spring game stats as definitive proof he's good?
August 19th, 2012 at 9:56 PM ^
Isn't that what we've been doing with Rawls?
August 19th, 2012 at 10:06 PM ^
Yeah, with both fingers crossed and maize colored glasses.
August 20th, 2012 at 7:54 AM ^
What part of "this is not a proven commodity" did you not understand?
And yes, I count true freshman stats from spring as an indicator of their ability, especially when they are 5 star talent that was heavily scouted playing on a team known for defense.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:01 PM ^
I thought Dee Hart already tore his ACL a few months ago and is likely out for the season. Maybe I'm remembering that wrong, or he recovered quickly...
August 19th, 2012 at 9:04 PM ^
'twas last year i believe... he should be ready to go against us
August 19th, 2012 at 9:20 PM ^
Dee Hart is 100% recovered from his ACL tear.
August 19th, 2012 at 10:18 PM ^
Running backs have returned 12 months after surgery, but it usually takes longer to regain explosiveness...
August 20th, 2012 at 7:51 AM ^
If I recall correctly Hart injured his ACL during spring practice 2011. He should be ready to play and get hit by Jake Ryan.
August 19th, 2012 at 11:50 PM ^
has been converted to receiver. Not sure where he is on the depth chart.
August 20th, 2012 at 12:01 AM ^
If you put any stock into their official site, he's still listed as a RB on there.
August 19th, 2012 at 8:56 PM ^
Looks like we're both having RB problems. I hope he gets well soon, because he's a beast.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:01 PM ^
Well with that OLine.....I am almost positive some of us could run for at least 50 yds by accident.
Now with that being said we would be in a full body cast at the end of the day. but 50 yds is 50 yds.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:21 PM ^
I must fall forward!
August 19th, 2012 at 9:07 PM ^
Yeldon was supposedly having a great camp and they were going to split carries.
This doesn't really change much, especially at RB where freshman can make an instant impact easier than QB or OL.
Tough break for Bama, heart goes out to Lacy.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:44 PM ^
when Fitz may not play.
I do agree it is better than replacing a QB or OL.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:07 PM ^
Yeldon is a talent, but he's no Eddie lacy.
August 20th, 2012 at 12:57 AM ^
Eddie Lacy is a talent, but he's no Trent Richardson.
August 20th, 2012 at 1:03 PM ^
He's no doorknob, either!
August 19th, 2012 at 9:09 PM ^
Sorry everyone but it appears it's just rumor
August 19th, 2012 at 9:14 PM ^
By no means do I trust Nick Saban, but I still trust him more than some random guy on the internet named Daniel Blanchard.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:23 PM ^
The first post was a bit premature. I edited it and apologize for being misleading.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:46 PM ^
Saban must have a bumper crop of recruits this year.
August 19th, 2012 at 9:55 PM ^
Where's RDT when we really need him?
August 19th, 2012 at 10:46 PM ^
Even if Lacy's out, Saban's going to have another stud back there toting the rock. I heard their freshman, TJ Yeldon, looked real good in spring ball.
Dee Hart should also be fully recovered for them, too. They'll be just fine w/o Lacy. Still, never like to hear about those kinds of injuries. I hoped he'd be out there on the field. I don't want there to be any excuses when we beat them.
August 19th, 2012 at 11:19 PM ^
Yeah I agree this is relatively irrelevant because Sabans gameplan is not going to change. On offense he is going to run the ball right at our D-line and then work some dink and dunk high percentage stuff for McCarron either out to the flat or play action over the top of our linebackers. On defense he will be playing a lot of man to man coverage, stacking the box against whoever and Denard. Denard is going to have to make them pay throwing the ball downfield.
August 20th, 2012 at 5:53 AM ^
Who's going to catch the ball downfield?
August 20th, 2012 at 7:56 AM ^
Why Denard of course!
