#EATING update [Ed: READ THIS!]

Submitted by martaviousodoms on

Hi,

I know I haven't been posting lately.  It's been a little tought trying to get things finished with the Kickstarter and garden situation and rewards.  We are moving forward though and the instalation date is set to be in 3 weeks if all goes according to plan.  It is more dificult then just putting in a garden and printing t-shirts and hoodies.

We are also working on a video and slide show to show our progress and the steps so that is where all our focus is on right now. So we can share our process.

And finally, I was wondering if anyone of our supporters could help me draft a cease and desist letter about our brand.  please email me at [email protected]

The hoodies had to be reprinted with some of the shirts so its taking longer and thank you for waiting we wanted them a long time ago too.

P.S.  Shout out to the Men's Basketball team on their accomplishments this year. Keep up the good work.  GO BLUE

Yeah I think this is different from a "typical" kickstarter ... a lot of the times, backers are expecting the kickstarter to provide them with the promised product (in fact, I think the kickstarter is legally bound to provide it).  But in our case, the "product" is your service to the community.  That's what we wanted to make happen.  So, as far as the reward side of things, I'm sure it's very easy for us to be endlessly patient.  I hope you're making great progress in Pahokee!

Martavious, if you could edit your post and provide some more specific information about the "trademark" violation it would be helpful.  Also, have you thought about getting your tradename formally trademarked?  I don't think its all that expensive and there's probably someone here that could help shepherd you through the process.  Just a thought.

Help this man, stat! I know there are plenty of law dogs on the site, so lets get it going. P.S. I am an idiot, and drunk, or else I would offer to help myself. On the plus side, iPhone autocorrect has helped me spell all these words correctly.

Shirt was in the mailbox today! Can't wait to wear it ... especially most Saturdays at the Farmer's Market where i'll have the most opportunities to explain it  (i'd wear it for animal slaughters at the farm, but it wouldn't remain regularly wearable for long).

But the shirt was just a bonus. I'm more looking forward to the garden updates and seeing the project come together. I wish i could volunteer directly, but the shores of Superior are a long ways from Pahokee and my knowledge, centered as it is on growing in the cold white north, wouldn't be all that applicable anyhow.

Thanks for the support.  Maybe on day you can help us grow in our garden and maybe thats something we should both look into because I am sure that your assistance would be a great help.  Tell everyone at the farmers market about Hope for Pahokee and the garden and what we are trying to do.

so I didn't even know I should be impatient.  I was already getting pleasure imagining the little kid wearing it.  Best of luck with the next steps, Tay.  We know you'll get there.

So great to hear things are coming along. I can't wait to see videos/photos of the garden I named! Better yet all the young people learning from it and enjoying it.

No worries.  As someone above posted, the t-shirts and hoodies were an added benefit to the donation.

Also, will second the request for an active link for further donations if y'all need it.
