East-West Shrine Game Reviews: Kevin Koger
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/tony_pauline/01/17/shrine…
Kevin Koger, TE, Michigan -- Koger was lost for much of the past three seasons in a Michigan offense that had little use for a tight end, but he displayed NFL ability in a big way. Koger was a dominant blocker all practice long, stopping opponents dead in their tracks. He made a terrific 25-yard reception down the seam in scrimmage, displaying natural pass-catching skills. Koger lacks the foot speed to be a true downfield threat, but at a position that's thin on talent in April's draft, he could be the biggest sleeper of them all.

Good to hear. Koger was always one of my favorite players, ever since his TD catch vs Wisconsin in 2008

Is anyone else having trouble accessing the "2012-2013 Basketball Depth Chart" thread?

Congrats to Koger! I can't access that thread either...it's bothering me.

"Access denied" usually means that the thread contained something that was offensive, flame-worthy, or just plain stupid. I didn't see the thread, but experience would indicate that there was inappropriate speculation of early departures in the thread. Besides, if anyone wants to see a well-done chart, UMHoops usually has a great one on their site.
I'm still enjoying the glow of last night's hard-fought victory over Sparty. I can wait awhile to think about next year.

Usually if a thread has that it will be deleted and not show up on the list, at least from my experience over the past year plus. This seems different but I will take your word for it.

off their game on the depth chart, they still have last year's squad with D. Morris.
I'm sure you're right that there was a problem but clicking and not seeing makes for

ESPN has a similar review of his performance up as well. Apparently he made the catch by out muscling a linebacker who was blanketing him. I really think that he's going to make a great 2nd or 3rd tight end for a team, and it's an exciting time for a TE to be going into the league as offensive coordinators all over the league are all realizing, "You mean these large men who can block DEs, can't be covered by LBs and are stronger than Safeties have actual value???"

Glad to hear that Koger is making an impact there. He should become a very serviceable #2 TE in the NFL. Any word on how Jr. is doing?

Koger is what UM football is all about. He stayed through RR even though he knew his numbers would be down. Great leader, very good player. Good luck!

Double post! sorry everyone.

I know he will make the best of any opportunity. Dear NFL - if you need to find players who can face adversity and spit in it's face, see Michigan's graduating class, 2011.

I agree Koger is a big sleeper. Was never used to the full of his potential but always looked like a solid NFL TE to me, kinda like Brandon Pettigrewish

Good to hear about Koger. If an NFL team takes a chance on him, he would definitely be one guy that would not blow it. I hope he is able to latch on a team and at least play second team tight end.

Koger caught 1700 yards in my first season of ncaa 12.

Mcshay was saying that Hemingway was upping his draft stock quite a bit with his play during the past wk as well

If he can get his hands to be more consistent, he could be a decent NFL TE. Good backup IMO. Has made some spectacular catches, but also seems to drop some routine ones. Would have been great to see him in a pro-style offense his entire career. But he's a Michigan Man through-and-through. Best of luck to him.

agree...as he is a local kid it's great to hear he has a chance to utilize what he stuck around for. I know he had a lot of dissappointment while at UM but this is a chance for him to make a great NFL player of himself...he has a great attitude and should go far. Wish that kid the best of fortunes in the NFL and look forward to rooting for yet another TRUE Michigan MAN.

Glad Koger is getting his due. I still rememer the shot he took against WMU hauling in a pass over the middle. Got rocked but came up with the ball and of course his catch against tsiO was a perfect way to cap his career. Hope some pro scouts can see his potential
