I started early today do to the UM/Ohio and UM/ND games. Now watching my Skins play the Colts. I bought a Sam Adams summer ale variety pack. Right now i'm on Cheery Wheat which is really good. Whats everyone else drinking/doing??

I've heard mixed reviews of Sam Adams Cherry Wheat.  Has anyone ever had the Sam Adams Barrel Room Collection "American Kriek"?  It's a barrel aged, cherry-based beer (but with a good malty-ness opposite the fruit) consisting of black cherries grown in, yep, you guessed it, MICHIGAN.  I thoroughly enjoyed it when I had it a few months back. I've never had the Cherry Wheat; curious if any similarity to the aforementioned.

Edit: eeeek.  I just did some "research" on the beer and found out they are Balaton cherries.  Balaton happens to be a registered trademark of Michigan State University....*gasp

I started before everyone today by the sound of it; we just purchased our first house 2 weeks ago so today was spent looking at carpet/paint and 3 Hoegaardens later I almost took a nap until I realized it was only 4:30! Homeownership FTW

I went to the last German Park of the year and drank buckets of Franziskaner Weißbier. For the first time ever (or at least in the 7-8 years I've been going), they actually had some Oktoberfest beer on tap (Spaten, I believe). Plenty of time for those O'fest beers later in September, so I stuck with the Franziskaner. Sorta my own personal salute to the end of summer. Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit!

I wish we had something like German Park here in Maryland.  I've been looking for a place with good shweinshaxe with semmel knodel in the DC area washed down with an Augustiner/Spaten/Lowenbrau/Hackerpschorr/Paulaner/Hoffbrau

My wife and I were talking over dinner how much fun we had last year at Oktoberfest in Munich.  Augustiner Wiesenbier...I had 3 liters at Augustinerkeller while yapping with a bunch of Munich 1860 fans.  My sig pic is of me riding a bronze boar near the Munich Ratskeller on the way home that night.

Shared a bottle of prosecco with the wife over dinner, now drinking an Imperial Hatter IPA from New Holland that one of the rad techs at work bought me while visiting Plymouth, MI (my former home as well).
