I started early today do to the UM/Ohio and UM/ND games. Now watching my Skins play the Colts. I bought a Sam Adams summer ale variety pack. Right now i'm on Cheery Wheat which is really good. Whats everyone else drinking/doing??
Early Saturday Drinking thread.
Trying not to move.
Atwater sampler, which is way too heavy for 90 degree weather
for being still in college I spent way too large of a percentage on beer.
Yeah, well... I'm gonna go build my own theme park, with blackjack and hookers. In fact, forget the park!
Drinking Hofbrauhaus Oktoberfest. It is the season. Hate the domer color commentator!
Roommate out on a business trip, hit up the local Mexican joint to watch some ND game from last year and now enjoying a bit of vodka and as much football as possible.
Opted for the Honey Badger at Red Hawk earlier this afternoon. No marijuana to be found.
It's never too early
I'm watching the QB controversy in DC. It's interesting to watch the battle for the starting QB spot. At least this is what my Spartan friend tells me.
Haven't had much sleep all week but thinking about getting the Saturday started early at my favorite neighborhood bar. Usually entails a lot of Bacardi and my favorite sandwich, the steak and bleu (the bleu is in no way an attempt at a Michigan-related pun)
Got a New Holland brewery black IPA 22oz in the fridge waiting for the lions game
Trying this Omer Traditional Blond a little later, and couple of other Belgium brews. Omer is apparently a Belgium Strong Pale Ale. We'll see how that works out. Hope everyone attempting to stay cool.
Heading to the founders brewery in grand rapids. In Michigan for the weekend...
Swing by Brewery Vivant near east town. Well worth it.
Seconded. I used to live a stones throw away from Vivant and it's the best place in gr, in my opinion
A nice Malbec, watching The Daily Show. Then Tigers.
Thomas Gordon will have a breakout season. That is all.
Picked up a 6-er of Lagunitas Little Sumpin'. Impressive.
Heading the the annual German-American Festival so I can slam all sorts of beers whose names I cannot pronouce out of a plastic boot.
A delicious creamy Boddington's after a long day a chasing 3 kids around.
Is F'n good!
Sorry but Sam's Cherry Wheat is no good. Tastes like cough syrup. Just finished a few Ithaca Flower Power IPAs. Prolly finish the evening off with some cheap stuff.
PS- 1 week til kickoff...Go Blue!!!
Went to brewery Vivant last Sunday after my bike race in EGR. Had Belgium IPA and some duck nachos.
I am having a relax before tuning into the Lions' preseason game against Oakland. I made a killer Chile Relleno Casserole which goes well with this Dos Equis sitting next to me at the moment as well.
I went with ground sirloin, pan seared with diced jalepenos and green chiles, some enchilada sauce with cilantro and diced onion to round it out.
I had half a he brew messiah and half a breckenridge After Raken Autumn ale. Both were really good.
It ain't shit unless it's pulled by horses, right?
Camping in UP, tent 15 ft from lake superior, downing some Two Hearted Ale and then some champagne at sunset celebrating anniversary.
Ciroc Red Berry
Sam Adams Octoberfest, making a homemade pizza
from caribou coffee. trying to get the last of these secondary apps sent off to med schools before the game next week.
Jack Dan, rolling rock, California red wine. Spicy pork patties and ranch burgers. Practicing for tailgate. Go Blue!
It's not very good, but it's $6.95 for a twelve pack down the street, so the price is definitely right.
I worked out and mowed my parents' law, so now I'm watching Sherlock Holmes on tv, and enjoying an Atwater Vanilla Java Porter, and playin' some EVE Online.
21st Amendment Brewery Wheat Beer.
I spent my day at a beerfest in Plainfield, IL. Fell in love with Oh Gii by the Milwaukee Brewing Company and some bourbon flavored beer by Alltech Lexington.
Was that the Midwest Brewer's Fest? I was tempted, but didn't go. How was it?
Yeah it was. It was a good time. 25 beer sample tickets for $50. My friend couldn't finish all of his so I got 6 extras. Spent most of them on the Oh Gii beer and the Fixed Gear stands. So good.
You would think they would have Bourbon
Same thing happened to me recently. Bourbon is my go to wedding drink.
Celebrating with some Summer Shandy washed down with Captain and Coke. You have to enjoy the simple things when you live in Arkansas...
My first post was a drinking thread too. Welcome, and enjoy!
Woodford Reserve with a dash of bitters and a cherry, lovely night for a manhattan
Hey thats 5(ish) miles from my house!
I never drank bourbon before moving to KY but have successfully been indoctrinated after a year of living here.
I'm just going to wait until welcome week.
I finished a New Belgium Belgo a bit ago (meh) and haven't decided what to have next... to be continued...
I've heard mixed reviews of Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. Has anyone ever had the Sam Adams Barrel Room Collection "American Kriek"? It's a barrel aged, cherry-based beer (but with a good malty-ness opposite the fruit) consisting of black cherries grown in, yep, you guessed it, MICHIGAN. I thoroughly enjoyed it when I had it a few months back. I've never had the Cherry Wheat; curious if any similarity to the aforementioned.
Edit: eeeek. I just did some "research" on the beer and found out they are Balaton cherries. Balaton happens to be a registered trademark of Michigan State University....*gasp
I started before everyone today by the sound of it; we just purchased our first house 2 weeks ago so today was spent looking at carpet/paint and 3 Hoegaardens later I almost took a nap until I realized it was only 4:30! Homeownership FTW
It's Miller time here in the panhandle of Florida. Getting ready to deal with an impending hurricane...
It's a tequila night. Espolon has been good to me lately. Decent cheapish tequila for quick consumption.
I went to the last German Park of the year and drank buckets of Franziskaner Weißbier. For the first time ever (or at least in the 7-8 years I've been going), they actually had some Oktoberfest beer on tap (Spaten, I believe). Plenty of time for those O'fest beers later in September, so I stuck with the Franziskaner. Sorta my own personal salute to the end of summer. Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit!
I wish we had something like German Park here in Maryland. I've been looking for a place with good shweinshaxe with semmel knodel in the DC area washed down with an Augustiner/Spaten/Lowenbrau/Hackerpschorr/Paulaner/Hoffbrau
My wife and I were talking over dinner how much fun we had last year at Oktoberfest in Munich. Augustiner Wiesenbier...I had 3 liters at Augustinerkeller while yapping with a bunch of Munich 1860 fans. My sig pic is of me riding a bronze boar near the Munich Ratskeller on the way home that night.
Shared a bottle of prosecco with the wife over dinner, now drinking an Imperial Hatter IPA from New Holland that one of the rad techs at work bought me while visiting Plymouth, MI (my former home as well).
Old Parr and Vallenato
Im drinking alot...and many different things
Was sipping on some Bold City 1901 Red Ale & Green Room Pablo Beach Pale Ale
