Early morning tailgate thread

Submitted by EZMIKEP on

On my way to tailgate in East Lansing. Pumped as all of you are. Looking forward to a solid win and an end to this 3 year "thing". What are you feelings on the game this rainy morning? Have they changed at all since the beginning of the week? And where are you watching the game at?

It is gonna be a GREAT day MGOBLOGGERS!!! Go Blue!!

I wish I was going to be there with you, was unable to make the trip up from Columbus. Represent all of us Wolverines over there in EL, going to be a glorious maize and blue day! I've felt good about this game all week and it hasn't swayed...Michigan 28-24

I'll be watching from work. Maybe the ER will be slow. One can only hope. Hey, I'm only looking for people to stay healthy. If it helps me enjoy the game (Not that THE game) double bonus .

As if being in south Florida and not getting to go to games isn't bad enough, I think I'll be taking the wife and son to a Seaquarium today. I can try to get out of it, but in the end the wife usually wins. Enjoy the tailgating and the game. Go Blue!

That is why you needed to lay the proper groundwork at the beginning of your relationship. I have a forever pass when it comes to UM Football. My wife knows that it has to be a very important event (kids football game, wedding, funeral,...) for me to miss watching the game. Anything else, Seaquarium, birthday party's, shopping, honey do list, etc., has to wait for The Game! For 17 years it has never been a discussion.

But my girlfriend has lived with me for over 3 years, so she knows not to plan anything on Saturdays in the fall. And should be ever decide to get married, she knows she has a window between the end of March Madness and the beginning of high school football to get it done.

<br>So, I will be in the same situation as you if I ever get married. Go Blue! Beat Sparty!

My wife wants to take the kids to a Halloween party at office our kids' pediatric dentist in  Ann Arbor, and of course it is from 11 AM to 2 PM. Hopefully, they have cable and a TV. Just in case, I am brining the portable radio with headphones.

Not tailgating (still in bed actually) but this is going to be the slowest 3 hours and 42 minutes I've been through in a while.

Also, side note, a tweet from RVB this morning for your pleasure:

"May God have mercy on my enemies because I wont - General Patton. #team132 #bringpaulhome"

We've gotta win this game.

Stopped at the Lager Mill, which has a huge Michigan Brewer selection, as well as other great craft brewers. I have the following:

1 Bottle of Founders Dirty Bastard

1 Bottle of New Holland Ichabod pumpkin ale

1 Bottle of Dogfish Head Midas Touch

I am unsure of the order of consumption. It's a weird but delicious combination.

... I think Sparty is overrated, perhaps wildly so.  The only team they beat of substance is TSIO, which was decimated by suspensions.  And Sparty nearly gave that one away.

My only wish is this: no redzone turnovers by Michigan.  We all know what happened at the end of the first drive against Sparty last year and how it deflated Michigan.

What I see happening: Michigan goes up by 10+ points.  Cousins has to throw, and Mattison sends the House. The weak-kneed Sparty "faithful" start to boo, and the team tightens up big-time.

My call: Michigan wins by two touchdowns.  If we get more than 30 points, I think this could be a blowout.

And when Dour Coach D calls the "Little House on the Prairie" play (fake punt with the team in Conestoga wagon formation), Kovacs breaks through and tackles the punter for a huge loss.

Then the ESPN cameras focus on the sideline, and Deadeye Vincent Smith lets Sparty know there's a new sheriff in town. And his name is Brady:

Go Blue!

I wish I was as confident as you.  Yes, they are probably a little overrated, but who's to say we aren't?  The only team of substance that we beat was ND, and that took a miracle.  I don't think that they will score more than 21 on us, but I also don't know how good their D actually is.  It could be a rough day for our offense.  I'm seeing a low-scoring game of about 40 pts combined.

Gents, you need to have days like this negotiated well ahead of time. For example, the man gets to watch little brother, THE GAME, the bowl game and some specific other events. For me. it's The Masters. In return, she gets a night off from cooking and I will refrain from touching her during monthly woman time. Loyalty.

My feelings are everywhere. I just recently moved to SEC country (AL) and I have a funeral to attend this morning. Not sure how long everything will last so I don't know if I will catch the game, but I wish everyone a safe game day and I will be back later on to celebrate a UM victory with you guys.

Go Blue!

Too excited to go back to sleep.  So I practiced a little clarinet (yay newly broken in reeds!) and I'm trying not to glance at the PC clock too much to make the time pass faster.

I'm looking forward to being the only fan in the bar again for the game.  Usually the other patrons don't show up until the 3:30 games, which is fine with me because they're mostly OSU fans.

I don't want this win just because it will make me happy, as I know whatever joy i garner from watching Sparty eat turf will be eclipsed by how happy these Michigan seniors are.  After all the criticism and coaching changes theyve endured, they deserve it.  Ryan Van Bergen, Mike Martin, Dave Molk, Troy Woolfolk, Junior Hemingway - this bud's for you.  Go Blue
