So you're saying gritty players can't be fast? :)
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:38 PM ^
40 times and grittiness are inversely proportional.
Seriously though, Persa looks pretty good. Northwestern always manages to find quarterbacks like this. See: Mike Kafka and Brett Basanez.

Talk about Tressel ball. Not even one keeper with Pryor?
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:36 PM ^
He had a 60+ yard scramble to set up their first TD...
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:38 PM ^
On that possession...keep up with the flow my man.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:32 PM ^
That was close to being blocked.
OSU's having some issues on special teams once again. Glad to see we aren't the only ones.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:32 PM ^
Yeah, hopefully they don't get that fixed
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:32 PM ^
Zook's hair is a poor man's version of GERG's hair.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:34 PM ^
Which is appropriate because Zook is a poor man's version of a head football coach
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:36 PM ^
GERG is even worse as a Head Coach.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:36 PM ^
Kindred spirits, those two.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:32 PM ^
Going to tOSU was a big mistake for Pryor. Might as well be playing with an arm tied behind his back with that play calling.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:35 PM ^
Part of me agrees (the part of me that WANTS to think TP made a mistake), but really, dude's been kicking ass and taking names as a starter since he got to OSU, has a Rose Bowl under his belt, is leading the #2 team in the nation, and will be talked about as a top 10 pick (if he stays next year - if he leaves early, I think that'd be a huge mistake - ton of mechanical issues to work on, but still, kid's clearly got NFL potential). Can't really say he made that big of a mistake, you know? If he wanted to win, he's done it. In spades. If he wanted to get to the NFL, well, pretty sure NFL scouts will grade his build, skillset, etc., very high, even if the production is tamped down by Tressel Ball.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:39 PM ^
I agree with your point about wins. My thought was that he should dominate games and shoulder more of the offensive workload. With his skills, and in the right offense, he could've gone down as the most dominant player in modern college football.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:42 PM ^
I get that point. TP's not likely to hit his ceiling under Tress. Doesn't mean he can't be wildly successful, compete for MNCs, and get drafted high... At least I hope he doesn't hit his celing.
October 2nd, 2010 at 1:27 PM ^
I honestly don't see why anyone would want to draft Pryor anyway. To do what? He wins at OSU but then he isn't really a standout at anything. He's an athlete but the NFL is full of athletes and the NCAA has much much better actual QBs on offer than Pryor. He couldn't even get drafted as a wildcat Pat-white style experiment, especially after what happened with pat white discouraging it.
What does Pryor offer a team that would make it worth drafting him in the top 3 rounds? Not as a QB, not as an RB, not as a WR. Where would you play him?
October 2nd, 2010 at 1:29 PM ^
Pryor has Oakland Raider written all over him. They'll draft him.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:40 PM ^
If he wanted a coach to discover whether or not he had any dilithium in him, he made a big mistake.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:38 PM ^
You make a good point. However, you are overlooking the fact that if OSU get up by 3 TDs, Pryor will have the opportunity to catch a TD pass.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:34 PM ^
Wow Illinois moving the ball a bit. 95 yds in the first qtr.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:36 PM ^
My God, the BTN announcers continue to impress:
"LeShoure sure has some quick feet."
"Yeah he definitely has some pretty feet."
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:40 PM ^
"He [the FG kicker] makes it nine straight!" "Oh, but it's short!"
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:37 PM ^
Illinois needs to get points here.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:39 PM ^
Anyone have a stream for OSU-Illinois?

Man, that Illini kick just died in the air. It doesn't look windy, but rarely do you see a ball just drop like that from 41 yards.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:39 PM ^
They really need to look into getting some better announcers.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:39 PM ^
Even our kickers are rolling their eyes at that kick.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:41 PM ^
How many times have the announcers talked about Illinois's QB having moxie. I laugh every time.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:43 PM ^
Every time I hear that word I think of "Lincoln Park Trixie." I don't know why. Maybe because it's an Illinois game.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:41 PM ^
The Napa commercial is now my least favorite BTN commercial. Congrats guys.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:45 PM ^
Can't believe that guy hasn't exhausted his eligibility yet
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:47 PM ^
He and past OSU running back Carlos Snow have forever eligibility.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:48 PM ^
"There aren't many warts on Terrelle Pryor's game". Get these asshats out of here.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:46 PM ^
I'm glad we have "Temptation." Every other team in the country, it seems, has to play that Star Wars song after a defensive stop.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:48 PM ^
This might be a terrible question to ask, but I'll give it a try. Who would have a better statistical season in our offense, all other things being equal? I still say D Rob, because while Pryor might be better throwing down the field, D Rob is a more accurate passer within 15 yards IMO.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:50 PM ^
Pryor. Now if you are talking about being likable and intelligent then it'd be DRob.
October 2nd, 2010 at 1:02 PM ^
Absolutely disgree. Denard is faster and quicker. Remember that 3rd and 2 last game that Denard took it to the house? Pryor would have gotten stopped.
In terms of passing, Denard this season has been more efficient with his down field passing which is the big "OMG PRYOR DOES THIS BETTER" point. However, Pryor has had more chances, but that's not because of his skill set, it's because of the play call.
October 2nd, 2010 at 1:47 PM ^
It sems that about 90% of his TD passes go to receivers when there is not a defender anywhere within 10 yards. It may be that defenses are so afraid of his feet that they let receivers run free, but his passing is not impressive.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:50 PM ^
Because Denard would be working out and watching film. Pryor would be checking his Facebook page and reading his great quotes to the media.
October 2nd, 2010 at 1:02 PM ^
Pryor would be checking his Facebook page and reading his great quotes to the media.
What, the everyone murders type line?
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:52 PM ^
I think based on pure athleticism and "natural talent", Pryor would be a great fit for this offense and could put up similar numbers (maybe not exactly the same, but close). But as we all saw during his recruitment and since being at OSU, he has attitude issues that would have derailed this team. People were having conniptions with the notion that Tate was not "in" with the team, and Pryor would have been a 100 times worse as UM struggled the past few years. Robinson has shown far more maturity and humility than Pryor, and for this team and this offense, you need a QB who has these skills to complement his physical abilities.

Should have had Pryor sacked. But then remembered they are Illinois
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:54 PM ^
Well, that last series for Pryor sure looked "warty"
