but this is ND we are talking about.  They don't give coaches time.  I also think his attitude REALLY turns off ND fans.  Not sure how long it will be tolerated if ND doesn't have a good record to match.

Also, Kelly was handed some pretty good playmakers so the fans won't be any more patient than normal.

His defense Weis left him is really slow and he'll get a chance to fix that. But he did seem to have some players on offense.  If he needs an understanding ear to have a beer with who get the issues with transitions, I'd recommend meeting up with guys who hang out on this blog.

Stay off the Notre Dame ones.

a reasonably deep defense with plenty of upperclassmen and a star at the most important position (Teo).  I'd say the defense has slightly underperformed.

The problem is that Kelly is an offensive guy and their offense has REALLY underperformed with all their talent.  *I* realize he should be given time to install the system and improve, but do Notre Dame fans/administration?  History says no.

Not sure about how long Kelly will be there. It is funny to watch when Kelly goes all Bobby Knight. I also agree that his attitude may not sit well with some ND fans or alums. Navy is totally imposing their will on the ND defense. This thing could get ugly.

If teams keep imploding against MSU, does that mean MSU is good?  They never do anything very impressive, but they keep winning.  I don't know what to make of it.

But getting waxed by Navy?

We don't play NW at this point? It sucks not playing the Gophers, but I'm not sure I'd trade any of our next 3 games for the Wildcats. I'm not even sure they're that great this year, but I just see that offense giving us fits.

If this isn't a one year uptick for the Cuse, and they are on the road to long term improvement, I wonder if Jim Delany would want to scratch the expansion itch again.

Northwestern's tackling is something our guys should aspire to.  They fly to the ball and wrap up.  Just a very well-coached squad.  If the Cats could attract better talent, they'd be a powerhouse.

Not sure if anyone is watching this, but Minny has over 300 yards halfway through the 3rd quarter, Kevin Newsome getting some playing time as Bolden went out with a concussion.
