I guess I can't see anyone with a contract to be the next head coach at Texas walking away. I think it's the best job in the country.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:37 PM ^
Recruiting is easy, just offer the top 50 kids in state, the first 25 to sign wins.
Texas recruiting:
Step 1. Offer 50 kids in state.
Step 2. Take vacation.
Step 3. Stop after 25 sign.
October 23rd, 2010 at 2:33 PM ^
My understanding is Mack Brown basically does that. They call their top target at each position, and if he doesn't commit, they just move on. Then they leave 3-4 spots open and actively recruit only the kids they think are really special players.

Spartan Blueprint 2010 in full force
NW is 2/3 in the red zone
1 TD
1 FG
1 Turnover
This is what MSU has done all season. Limit your damage, often outright denying it, in the red zone.
So much time in this game. Those missing points loom all over this game right now. MSU's offense will deliver a blow or two, we know that.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:04 PM ^
Jamie, be positive.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:12 PM ^
so true
clearly the spread offense isnt working in the Big 10 right now.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:00 PM ^
Nice.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:00 PM ^
Why can't they miss against Michigan?
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:03 PM ^
Because they get the rivalry, man. If we had a countdown clock to MSU they would miss those against us too.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:11 PM ^
I would have laughed at you a few weeks ago, now I am wondering if we should be looking at digital or classic analog.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:27 PM ^
Unless it is a magical clock that will allow our secondary to time travel back from the future and be juniors and seniors, I don't think that is our primary problem.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:53 PM ^
It just has to have a flux capacitor. And a lot of gigawatts.
October 23rd, 2010 at 2:35 PM ^
1.21 to be exact.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:01 PM ^
Probably shoulda ran little giants there, ha wide right, Go Cats
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:02 PM ^
This definitely has all the makings of a typical SPARTY FAIL.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:03 PM ^
Works every time
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:05 PM ^
So far so good. Navy and Northwestern are both winning. Northwestern needs to cash in on this missed field goal. Persa looks really dangerous.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:06 PM ^
moving the pile. What I would give to be a fly on Mike Valenti's wall right now!
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:09 PM ^
I will actually be able to listen to the Ticket again if this holds up! Hate that douche.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:06 PM ^
Moving the ball at will.....same old Spartans?
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:11 PM ^
Robert Bolden hurt...?
October 23rd, 2010 at 2:05 PM ^
Out for game with a concussion...
Matt McGloin is really bad.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:08 PM ^
think Fitzgerald would leave NW?
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:14 PM ^
I don't think he'll ever leave, but he's a great coach who would probably succeed anywhere.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:11 PM ^
Sparty's gonna have to show some true grit if they're coming back. That or NW will figure out a way to hand it to them.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:12 PM ^
Persa sneaks in for a TD! I haven't watched Northwestern at all this year. Persa has been very impressive so far in this game.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:17 PM ^
I've heard good things about Persa and caught a little bit of him on the B10 network a couple of weeks ago. The kid has shiftiness plus a decent arm - reminds me of Tate a bit from last year. He's a senior and probably would have played earlier in his career if Kafka hadn't been a pretty good QB himself. This offense also has quite a few upperclassmen on the 2-deep, which means they know the offense and how to perform.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:14 PM ^
One of the biggest differences between this game and the MSU games against Michigan and Illinois the last two weeks is that the Cats, even with a major red zone gaffe, have still be able to get multiple TDs on their consistent forays into scoring range.
What a great game so far
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:15 PM ^
Dear Michigan State,
Welcome to life on the road in the Big Ten coupled with being a big game on the other team's schedule.
Sincerely,
Lifelong Michigan fans everywhere
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:17 PM ^
Come on Sparty. Screw this drive up somehow.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:18 PM ^
Shit, MSU touchdown. NW still up 17-7
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:19 PM ^
What's Texas's problem? Down 14-3? It's Iowa State!
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:22 PM ^
I think Texas falls somewhere between the Nebraska win and the 2 previous losses - a talented team but one that can shoot itself in the foot and lose to an inferior opponents.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:21 PM ^
If NW can even answer with a FG here that would be huge going into the half. Don't the Wildcats get the ball to start the 2nd half?
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:33 PM ^
Yes, MSU went 3 and out to start the game.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:23 PM ^
beautiful job by the DB - textbook
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:26 PM ^
21-10 Navy! ahahaha.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:29 PM ^
getting some love from the announcers as Syracuse has held West Virgina's offence in check
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:29 PM ^
Pat Fitzgerald is a hell of a coach. There is very little talent on that team but they are sound.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:33 PM ^
42-0 OSU at the half! Yikes. Also, Purdue sucks.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:36 PM ^
...even though I'm "All In," RichRod should be ALL OUT.
End of line.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:44 PM ^
Over/Under on the number of times "Sparty No!!" will be said in this thread over the course of the second half. I'm setting the line at 4.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:47 PM ^
I'll take the over... WAY over.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:48 PM ^
I noticed he was out and PSU isn't exactly rolling. Hurt?
October 23rd, 2010 at 2:06 PM ^
Sounds like hes out with concussion symptoms.
October 23rd, 2010 at 2:10 PM ^
Guess that means he'll be back for next week.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:51 PM ^
Beating the heck out of Indiana right now. I'm worrying more about that one now.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:53 PM ^
Illinois is looking better and better with every week. We better bring the house against them.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:57 PM ^
Don't forget IU's starting RB is out. They rely on him just as much for his pass blocking as running.
October 23rd, 2010 at 1:55 PM ^
Navy!!
