Early Game Thread

We've got Minny at rebounding OSU, Illinois at surging Purdue, and Indiana at Northwestern. Post your thoughts.

EDIT: Thanks to IO tv, We also have Arkansas at former Top-5 Ole Miss, Iowa State taking on the Huskers in Lincoln, USF at emerging Pittsburgh, and Ok St. at Baylor.

But as the announcers have pointed out about a million times, Pryor is completing some passes. Get ready for the hype.

I think OSU is trying too

I think OSU is trying too hard to show that Pryor can still pass right now. Run the ball against Minny - that is the Tressel way. I expect the gameplan to go far more conservative from this point on.

And that's the Juice Williams I was expecting - pick by Purdue.

Illinois was running their option offense rather impressively there for a bit.

Ghost Town

It is eerily quiet. There has been little to no enthusiasm in that stadium. Admittedly, OSU hasn't done much of note yet, but they did put together a long drive in the first quarter that still saw a nearly reactionless crowd.

OSU

is looking different from the buckeyes that I am used to seeing. I don't think this is a player problem (talent). The crowd is quiet and there doesn't seem to be a lot of enthusiasm coming from them. With the offense we possess this year I think we have the best shot we've had in a while at beating them soundly.

Nice to see the refs got the memo about OSU having to win today. And the Minny player called on the interference call is freaking out on his coach. This will get ugly today.

He's lucky Posey was that wide open on that pass. He almost managed to underthrow him. Put a defender with in 5 Yards of him and there might be a pick.

IU up 28-3 at Northwestern.

IU up 28-3 at Northwestern. What on earth happened to them at Virginia? Otherwise they've been a good team.

Speaking of which, we may want to hold off on assuming MSU is a contender. The last two teams they've beaten (Illinois and NW) look like the two worst teams in the conference.

I agree RE MSU this year.

I agree RE MSU this year. They looked overmatched against a good Wiscy team, nearly were upset by a young and injured UM team at home, then beat two of the worst teams in the Big 10 in unconvincing fashion. They'll make a bowl game this year, but the whole meme that MSU is a darkhorse needs to stop.

Bob Griese

I have to ask--was anybody else watching Minnesota-OSU where they were talking about racing standings, one of them asked why Juan Pablo Montoya wasn't in the top five and Bob Griese said he was out getting a taco?

I am glad he went to OSU. We have Tate and Shoelace, with DG coming on board.

Even though Chris Spielman is giving him a verbal BJ right now....

UConn blew it with mistakes

UConn blew it with mistakes but still got a FG, now up 10-7. I'd love to see them take one in Morgantown.

EDIT: A quick drive by WVU puts them up 14-10 with a minute left in the 1st half.

MORE EDIT: UCONN DRIVES in five plays/30 secs and scores a TD! up 17-14All set up by a good KO return.

Minny just stinks! I guess it speaks to how terrible tOSU is that they're at home and only up 7-0 with a few minutes left in the 1st half. I know that the Buckeyes will wear them down in the 2nd half and win by a couple of scores, but sheesh...

Minny looks absolutely lost

Minny looks absolutely lost out there right now. Why are they off the schedule again?
