Early game open thread
Early games:
Northwestern at Nebraska. Winner gets to be known as "NU" by third parties.
Iowa State at Baylor. Can this rainstorm slow down the Bears?
Clemson at Miami. Is Clemson for real?
Houston at UCF. Herman is still undefeated as a head coach.
Pittsburgh at Syracuse. Battle of former defensive coordinators in the state of Michigan (Narduzzi vs. Shafer)
Auburn at Arkansas. Can Bielema put the tire fire out?

Jebus. Baylor's gonna score 120.

Way to blame everything on Armstrong there color guy. Not like the receiver couldn't have done anything to help him out.

I really like the Miami jerseys. Have to give Adidas credit on this one.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:37 PM ^
Sorry but had to neg you for that. THAT'S THE SAME STRIPE PATTERN WE HATE ON OUR BASKETBALL SHORTS! Plus the numbers look like a screen-print and the font is off. And that chain-link pattern in the jersey...why?
October 24th, 2015 at 1:25 PM ^
Huh? Those jerseys look nothing like out basketball uniforms. Our basketball uniforms are bad because that pattern is out of place. If the pattern was consistently used on the uniform it would look different in my opinion.
October 24th, 2015 at 2:22 PM ^
A horizontal stripe made of tilted vertical stripes? Just...no.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:35 PM ^
Bad play by Thorson--his internal clock should tell him to throw the ball away in the endzone in that situtation.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:37 PM ^
7-5 NW vs. Nebraska is the most Big TEN! score I can think of.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:38 PM ^
Wrong. 6-4.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:36 PM ^
That was a terrible game as well. But 7-5 just seems funnier to me.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:38 PM ^
That 6-4 Iowa win over PSU several years ago will never be topped.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:37 PM ^
Miami is bottoming out. At least they better hope this is the bottom.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:50 PM ^
You mean the last ten years now, right?

If Clemson can name their score that's pretty much a new low.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:38 PM ^
I missed it - how did Nebraska get a safety?
October 24th, 2015 at 12:44 PM ^
Fair Catch for Northwestern on their own 3. Next play resulted in the safety.

The safety itself was on a sack in the end zone.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:41 PM ^
These noon games suck.
Thank god Arsenal and Everton are on NBC.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:44 PM ^
Go Toffees! Do it for Howard Kendall!
October 24th, 2015 at 12:45 PM ^
Gunners all day.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:46 PM ^
Ox and Giroud starting, finally.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:48 PM ^
Arsene Wenger needs to suck it up and buy a fucking legit striker... Walcott and Giroud aren't gonna get Arsenal a Champions League or Premier League title.
smh.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:54 PM ^
It was just maddening watching Walcott trying to get on the end of headers against center backs.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:07 PM ^
Cavani is right there for the picking. PSG isn't gonna do anything anytime soon. Ligue1 is a joke with Marseille being down..
Shiet even Abameyang from Dortmund is better.
October 24th, 2015 at 2:23 PM ^
Top of the table!!! Especially after a midweek UCL game, and with several injured starters. Impressive.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:07 PM ^
Lol
College football is only here for a certain amount of weekends and then you'll be bellyaching it for it the rest of the year.
Enjoy it while it lasts.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:42 PM ^
Iowa State's secondary coach might want to make sure they actually remember to go out there when Baylor is on offense. I mean, it's pretty to watch sometimes and all that, but you sort of have to act like you can stop them now and again.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:56 PM ^
It's just going to be baby seal clubbing. Whenever I lament the status of Michigan, I think of ISU fans and what they'd give for an 8-4 season. Poor guys.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:44 PM ^
I can count the number of UCF fans at the game. Wow.
October 24th, 2015 at 12:51 PM ^
Beilema destroying supposed "offensive genius" Malzahn.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:07 PM ^
Really surprising to me as I assumed that Malzhan was the genius behind the NC Auburn won a few years ago. So surprised as to how poorly Auburn has played this season. The more I watch various offensive schemes, the more I enjoy watching pro style schemes like Stanford, Arkansas, MSU, UM and Bama. It's much more interesting to watch teams that focus on dominating the LOS, QBs who can throw like Brady but may not be the best runners, and RBs that absolutely dominate behind a powerful Oline. Stanford has repeatedly broken the spirit of opponents all season with exception of NW. It's fascinating to watch it happen and see opposing coaches looking bewildered and only certain that they have no chance to win against this style of offense when it's clicking.

I think people overrated him because of some of the athletes he had. He had Cam Newton for the NC run and very good QB/RB for his option game in his first years at Auburn. He doesn't have much on offense this year and was never a great defensive of coach.
I still think he is a decent HC--just more of a Rich Rod level coach instead of a Meyer type.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:15 PM ^
Auburn was loaded on offense in '13. Malzahn was definitely better than Chizik, but he had Nick Marshall (perfect qb for his offense), Tre Mason, Sammie Coates, and Duke Williams
October 24th, 2015 at 12:57 PM ^
but seeing Miami get destroyed is always fun no matter who does it.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:01 PM ^
MIAMI HAS A PLAYER NAMED CORN ELDER!
October 24th, 2015 at 1:18 PM ^
Does he call opposing players outlanders? Because that would be creepy

Hit the elder
October 24th, 2015 at 1:03 PM ^
I really wish the bye week was next Saturday. A win today would have helped a little to get over the shitty MSU game.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:09 PM ^
Clemson is up 28-0 on Miami with 9:00 to go in the 1st half. I wonder who Miami will try for after they fire Golden tomorrow morning? I could see Shannon taking over as interim h.c.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:09 PM ^
Yeah, Golden is so gone. He has no chance of recovering from this one. I don't think he'll be let go until end of season unless the AD feels the fan base needs to get excited about something new happening.

PJ Fleck. Row the Hurricane
October 24th, 2015 at 1:49 PM ^
They should bring back Butch Davis.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:10 PM ^
WOW that was an awful throw by armstrong
October 24th, 2015 at 1:12 PM ^
You think Nebraska fans miss Bo Pelini yet ?
October 24th, 2015 at 1:12 PM ^
Should have thrown it low, not high. Since he was falling .
October 24th, 2015 at 1:15 PM ^
I was about to make a joke that if either NU secondary could catch the ball that game would have like eight INTs already.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:15 PM ^
I remember Husker fans claiming Riley hire was equal to Harbaugh. Good times in Jan and Feb.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:20 PM ^
I don't understand why they didn't hire Anderson (other than their AD is a UW guy). He would have an easy transition to his spread offense, improve their D, and really fire up the rivalry with Wisconsin.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:17 PM ^
Baylor should be number 1.
October 24th, 2015 at 1:20 PM ^
Pretty sure Utah should be #1. Baylor might as well be playing high school teams.
