Well thats good.

I hope we don't have to rehash this every few months. Are we a neurotic fanbase or are we equally neurotic as other fanbases?
January 20th, 2012 at 7:55 PM ^
Meyer being at or going to his high school.
January 20th, 2012 at 7:59 PM ^
yeah, i know... maybe i am mistaken but i seem to remember some neurosis regarding Kalis, despite his firm commitment to Michigan.
Just hoping our excellent recruting guys could spend their time other ways than re-re-reassuring our commitments.
or maybe im just neurotic about being neurotic?

doesn't mean they're not after you
January 20th, 2012 at 9:44 PM ^
nothing wrong with being neurotic...keeps you alert
January 20th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
hearing some kid reconfirm his enthusiam for Michigan. In this day and age big time recruits are a key element in recruiting other big time recuits. Anything, well almost anything, that encourages that is important. Thomas' profile and energy is a good thing.

Everyone knew that. Your recruiting prowess is vastly overrated.
Just kidding of course. Keep up the good work. Content amount is quite impressive.

more successful in the results than all but a few
January 20th, 2012 at 7:57 PM ^
Well we are neurotic, but we also have to realize that Meyer has done nothing more than take adavtange of the enormous dumpster fire that is PSU. Also, he looks like a lesbian at a techno club, and that will catch up to him eventually.

this needs to be a meme.
January 20th, 2012 at 7:57 PM ^
Yaaaaaaaaaha!
January 20th, 2012 at 11:32 PM ^

For a "non-traditional" media outliet (aka a blog), how do you make sure you're not crossing the line by contacting recruits?
Media can talk to recruits, assuming they're not advocating a specific school. However, boosters (which can apply to almost any fan) can not.
I know twitter is full of NCAA violations (fans talking to recruits), so I assume the NCAA doesn't care too much about it, but do blogs have to be a little more careful (Ace can chime in too)?

I know we are well aware of what constitutes a booster and what doesn't. I've read the bylaws. I am an alum, but have never donated a dime to the athletic department, or school for that matter. The line between fan and booster can be very blurry, I agree, but it's not blurry at all in our case. One of the biggest reasons probably being that I don't think any of us particularly care where these recruits end up as far as school choice is concerened. It's their life and their choice. We simply gather and relay information to the best of our abilities. Nothing more, nothing less.
To add, we've gotten major support from many established news sources and I've had contacts with different writers to make sure we aren't overstepping any bounds in what we do. I feel like if there was any wrongdoing going on, it would have been addressed by now.

Thanks for the response. I'm glad you've done your homework here. Keep up the great work!

With kids this solid on the commitment (like Shane Morris, as well), I wonder how long it will be until football, like basketball, has an early signing period. Seems like it would benefit some of the kids who are unwavering. It's probably the only thing, outside of early enrollment (which isn't an option for all kids either because of their academics or their school's ability to provide that option) that would get some coaches to leave them alone.

I said it yesterday, and got hit as a homer...I am telling you, there is almost no chance that Dymonte would ever consider flipping. It is never 100%., but I am as confidant as you can be at this stage.
January 20th, 2012 at 9:20 PM ^
I fully endorse this statement.

Need to get this in when I can.

Watch what they do, not what they say. He will be a Buckeye in the end. This one is still so early on in the process. Not worried a bit.

Go crawl back under your stump, troll!
January 21st, 2012 at 12:04 AM ^
Have time to read sites I enjoy, let alone troll the ones for teams I despise. You must be unemployed and live with your mother?

Buckeyes are the ones that often say things that they know are not true (JT for example) - and you sir seem to be a case in point.
