Dymonte Thomas Update (Good)

Submitted by Steve Lorenz on

I won't post a link, but I just talked with Dymonte Thomas about a week or so after Eleven Warriors posted a short interview with him in which the consensus seemed to be that Urb's golden touch will bring Dymonte home to the Buckeyes. In short, it's nothing to worry about. He said he'd visit Columbus only to see Brionte and his brother, who is also a student at Ohio. When I asked him about Meyer/Dunn and their potential influences, his message was simple: They have no impact on me

I only posted this just in case some people caught the 11w interview and were a little concerned.

I read a while back that Ohio State coaches have visited every one of his wrestling meets this year. Considering that he still seems to be a solid commit, I see no reason to become invested into thinking there will be any different outcome.

that's a pretty quick single leg takedown off the whistle.  Then he works his way up nicely before rolling into a half nelson for back points and the eventual pin by putting all his leverage against his opponent's shoulders.  Pretty decent.  Although I can't say his competition in that matched looked very, uh, competitive. That match was a bit short to get a good scouting report.

Not to be that guy but he had his legs wrong the top leg should have been in front to put more leverage on the guy, also the guy could have  hooked his leg like that to counter leverage and keep his shoulder blade up or set up a reversal if DT had tried to force the shoulder down and lost his leverage, weight balance.

I read on another site that apparently at that awards banquet in Columbus that he attended, he shouted "Go Blue" into the microphone at some point during ceremony.  Anyone care to confirm?

I never feel truly safe on a recruit until he's inked his name on an L.O.I. Even Shane. This is one area where I'm in total agreement with Meyer. Until they fax that letter in, every recruit is fair game.

If you asked me now if I think Dymonte will decommit and look at Ohio in the next year, I'd tell you no, but there's a whole year before the next signing day. Anything can happen, and verbal commitments don't really mean anything. That being said, I'd still be pretty shocked if he de-committed.

I remember not too long ago, Urban was quoted as saying that he would back off a recruit that said he was solid with another school, and didn't want to go to OSU. That's clealy a lie, because Dymonte seems to have said exactly that. Urban always wanted to make Saban out to be a villain, when Urban recruits with the same methods. #Fraud

Hold the phone.  Urban Meyer has been insincere with recruits?  Get outta dodge.  Urban Meyer?  I don't know... he seems like a pretty good guy to me.

Everytime I leave a reply regarding Urban Meyer just makes me think of the Sleezebag mold they have at OSU for their coaching staff.

are the same people that think we're going to lose every game to Ohio for the next 25 years. I've never seen someone more committed to a school than Dymonte and Morris are to Michigan. He loves Michigan and that's all there is to it.

Shane Morris's twitter seems to be hinting at a new commit coming soon. With the way he went back and forth with Treadwell, that makes me feel like buckling up.

If Urbie says he will back off a recruit if they say theyre not interested, then whats the deal with this? Why doesnt Dymonte just tell Urbie to go away? Or is Urb just being a douche?

Did you say something, Kyle? My headphones are noise canceling.

I'm going to Michigan...

..please stop calling.

One second!

What?

COME TO OHIO STATE!

Do you see 81 here? That'll be you if you keep calling me!

Urban Meyer runs away with his tail tucked

Is there a problem here?

No coach, just going through the offseason workbook.

That's my guy, right there!

Somewhere in Columbus...
