With every trip that has been canceled or moved I've had an uneasy feeling. I think the timing on this may have passed. Also of note in that article is How Alabama is pushing for Terry Richardson. His recruitment is looking long from over.
The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
...is not amused with Bama baby.
....
Right because Michigan is having so much trouble getting kids on campus. There is going to be a lot of leftovers at the BBQ.
I never really thought we had a great chance with Washington or Stanford after they kept cancelling visits. After hearing the news about OSU, I'm thinking more kids, especially ones from Ohio, are going to start coming out with smaller lists including OSU. If OSU doesn't get hit as a repeat offender or something new doesn't come out, a lot more kids are going to start re-considering OSU or consider them more seriously, sadly.
Most of the time it was our staff cancelling the visits for one reason or another.
No doubt. Can't pin this on Stanford. The free weekends that he has wanted to visit hasn't meshed up well with the staff's for one reason or another.
something new doesn't come out
Something new comes out all the time, but the NCAA doesn't care.
It sounds like OSU will not get hit too hard from the NCAA. Does this mean a kid like Kalis, that was all buck at one time, changes his mind and switches back to OSU? Will Hoke and staff take one more OL recruit just to be on the safe side?
After what Kalis has said about OSU and what he has said about recruiting for Michigan, I don't see how he switches back.
anyone looking for a football fix, the 97 rose bowl is on big ten network right meow. Its in the 4th quarter currently.
The writing has been on the wall for some time. This kid isn't coming. Neither is Washington. We need to move quickly to find a game breaker or two on offense.
That top 5 works for me. Best of luck to Stanford.
While I'm disappointed we're on the outside for Washington, I can't say I'm bothered about missing out on Stanford. I like Burbridge and Payton a lot more. Madaris also looks like a quality player.
I think that if Burbridge gets his school-work in order he will be ours over MSU. Give us him and Madaris and I will be satisfied for WR recruits this year. I think it will be a battle with MSU and ND for Madaris.
Burbidge > Stanford.
& Burbridge > Burbidge.
Unfortunate. He woulda been a great downfield threat. We still have loads of choices, though. This might explain us offering Madaris late, but any one or two of Burbridge, Madaris, Powe, and Payton would be great
I realize Stanford is a jump ball-type receiver, but there are legitimate questions about whether he has the wheels to be a star at the next level. Not worried about this at all. Burbridge, Madaris or Payton are all better choices.
site running slow.
Sam Webb just reported on Scout that Stanford does have Michigan in his top group , and that he DOES plan on visiting.
Hmm, really wanted this guy on board. Good luck to him wherever he goes though. Burnbridge or Payton would still be nice.
We have too many of them, and we're taking on TE's. It'd be better for us to take 1 this year, see what kind of depth of talent we really have riding the bench behind all our seniors, and then fill our receiving class up in Shanes class. If we take 2 this year we'll have 9 on scholarship in 2012 as things stand: 3 established WR's, Roundtree, 3 established SR's, and the 2 incoming freshmen WR's, plus 5 TE's if none of the many DE's move.
Assuming Shane Morris sticks with his commitment, M will have its pick of top-flight receivers in the next couple years. Nothing attracts receivers like a blue-chip passer in a pro-style offense. Michigan was Receiver U until RR came along; now comes the return to excellence.
Payton = Burbridge > Stanford
Wish him the best. There are other options, though, for UM. I do think he winds up at Bama, but that just might be my anti-OSU bias talking.
