Interesting game because of a couple M connections.

Current Wolverine John Horford plays for the Dominican as well as former Wolverine Josh Asselin (Go Caro).

I thought the Michigan basketball program had debunked the idea that Jon Horford was on the Dominican Republic's roster. He was just practicing with the team.

would rather have a 16 year old rising sophomore who just happens to be the #1 2015 BB recruit according to ESPN. I'm sure the choice was simply for basketball reasons though.

He previously played pro ball in the DR and then eventually gained citizenship there.

From an mlive article:

Since graduating in 2001, his professional career has taken Asselin all across the world, including the Dominican Republic, Ukraine and several seasons in Spain where he maintains a home. . . . Asselin holds dual citizenship in the United States and the Dominican Republic.
