I don't like Duke. That's why I want to play them. When I went to the Mad Hatter in Durham a few months ago I was there with my mother in law, who walks with a cain, and laboriously at that. There were two dozen Duke students there sitting alone at two or four tops and woudn't stand up so an old lady could sit down.
So many folks talking like this "should" be the Championship game, but not real high level of play out there. At least UL has a good excuse....
Louisville scares the shit out of me. Great guards in Siva and Smith, athletic wings who seem like they will be trouble boxing out, and a presence inside with Dieng. If we get that far, I would be nervous with that matchup.
A minor Duke check -
- 38.5% effective FG percentage
- 22.2% offensive rebound percentage
- 10 turnovers
Meanwhile, Louisville, has 8 steals and 9 blocks (20.5% block percentage against Duke's offense) and us shooting about 10% better despite a lack of three-pointers.
UL is totally going to win the championship
John Beilein, in between bites of a sub, laughs at this post.
Seems to work pretty well. And they do actually get called for a lot of fouls. Like every starter has 3+.
This is true. Good strategy. It seems to win them a lot of games.
