Bone cyst?
Ware injury for Louisville is tragic. The worst I've seen live in college basketball. #NCAA

That was a compound facture. I'm amazed the kid was even conscious and not passed out in shock. I hope the EMT's have morphine.
That was worse than the Lattimore injury, IMO. He must have had a stress fracture in that area or something. You would never expect to see that as a non-contact injury.
Damn its gotta be tough to play after that. Kinda pulling for Louisville now even though Dieng terrifies me.
that sustained the fracture, is he a starter?
Kevin Ware. He is a sophomore who averages 17 mins a game, but is not a starter.
damn. crazy home court advantage for Louisville!
Wow it feels weird playing basketball after that.
You don't want to see it. It's unbelievably grusome.
you don't want to see it. leg in half type of break. really, you don't want to see it. If you do watch, just do not watch him falling on the sidelines - just seeing the players on the court fall down and the players on the bench reaction, you will get the feeling of the play.
Worst injury I've ever seen. Only thing even remotely comparable would be Shawn Livingston.
I'm speechless. Sick to my stomach and speechless.
Best of luck to both teams. More importantly, I hope Ware can recover.
NOPE NOPE NOPE!
Basically Shaun Livingston, but with bone piercing the skin.
might be the worst injury I've ever seen at any sporting event period. Prayers go out to him, his family and Louisville Nation. That's just a terrible way to go. I'm pulling harder for Louisville now than I was before the game. This is tragic
after running out a 3 point shot on defense. As others have said, there was likely an underlying stress fracture.
Just jumped trying to block a shot IIRC. Didn't even really look like he landed funny. Definitely didnt land on an ankle or anything. Crazy.
Didn't see it but just saw the pic on twitter.
Oh my God.
I have a good picture of it. I'm not going to post it for obvious reasons, but basically his bone was sticking out of his leg. Hopefully it's not the sign of some sort of underlying malignancy like an osteosarcoma, because that thing just snapped.
Haha I forgot that this is MGoBlog and that there are actually intelligent posters on here. Osteosarcoma would certainly be the least likely, but some sort of cancer is possible. However, on further review he landed a lot less clean than I originally thought, so I think it was just the shear stresses he put on that bone.
Was he wearing an ankle brace? Ankle braces might cause injuries like this. I dont feel like going back to look at it again.
Damn I hope we dont have these refs. Duke getting every 50/50 call. Hell, Duke getting every call.
Worst leg injury I've seen since Tim Krumrie in the 89 Super Bowl
True.
And pickles covered in sand taste better than pickles dipped in shit.
It looked like former Southern Miss WR DeAndre Brown's injury as well as FItz's, only Ware wasn't wearing a tall sock to cover how gruesome it was.
So is this how Louisville always plays? I haven't really every watched them before, and I know they're one of the best teams in the nation, but they seem to be playing with fire. Like a mile-a-minute on both ends, hyperagressive stuff. Is this their MO and their just really good at not having it blow up in their face or get too many fouls?
At least in the tourney it has been their MO
Louisvill plays good defense. Scary. (but not too scary).
I haven't really watched a whole lot of Duke either so I can't tell if this is out of charachter for them, or are they Kansas-esque in that ball handling is always an issue because of no true point gaurd or ball handling gaurds?
I just hate Duke. The team looks even more surprised when the refs call a foul on them than Wisky or Aaron Craft.
