DT Timmy Jernigan (FL) has Michigan in his Top 5

Submitted by SaigonBlue on

I don't know if this has been posted before by Tom VH or anyone else, but I just read that DT Timmy Jernigan has a final five of MIchigan, UF, FSU, Alabama, and LSU, that he is expected to take visits to all five, and that he may move up his decision date.

They need to get Ricardo Miller to speak to him:

There probably wasn't a post you could find, but he's had this top five for quite a while now, since the beginning of his recruitment or there-abouts. The general feeling is that it's between Florida and Florida State, but winning and a strong visit could change things, it's good that we're gonna be able to get him on campus.

field; Coach Rod is a good recruiter, we all know he's had top notch talent head in this direction - although some got derailed or simply didn't want to work that hard at it - and if he gets this train a rollin', the top recruits are sure to follow.

It's a longshot, but you never know what could happen with a visit. Just gotta keep getting top prospects like him on campus and hopefully one domino falls and then.......

Just to be in the his Top 5 along with those schools is a huge accomplishment considering the last 2 seasons we had, imagine what it will be like when this gets turned around???

Someone should tell all these DT's what our DT situation looks like.  If Jernigan comes here, he starts maybe from day 1, but very likely for 3 years.  Florida, on the other hand, has signed every 5 star DT for the last 7 years, so their depth is tough.  I'm not as familiar with the other schools, but it can't look as favorable as ours.  Any DT that jumps on in this class will have a clear path to big time PT.

We need these recruits taking a serious look at our program.  And nothing gets a recruits attention like winning.  If Timmy's looking at five programs, and we're one of them - I like our odds.

Of course, I prefer win...
