Congrats Denard! Go Blue!
December 9th, 2010 at 2:26 PM ^
But yet the Big Ten cant even name him 1st team quarterback.
December 9th, 2010 at 2:27 PM ^
The B10 can't even come up with names for its divisions.

I don't get why people make such a big deal about a title. He has a very different skillset than almost every other player listed at QB. I mean, what defines a QB? If I call LaMichael James a QB, does that make him one? Is it passing that defines a QB? Is it decision making? Is it taking snaps? He's not the best passer. He's not the best decision maker. Again, if a RB takes all of the snaps and runs every down with 10 blockers, does that make him a QB? I would think not.
I don't know how every defines QB and I don't know what criteria they look at for best QB, but I'm guessing he almost assuredly doesn't meet it. If anything it puts Denard into a category of his own that noone else in the conference can touch.
December 9th, 2010 at 3:37 PM ^
He's a Quarterback... It doesn't matter what "defines" a QB on the field... he IS a quarterback and the best one in the country at that.
December 9th, 2010 at 8:14 PM ^
Cam Newton is better.
December 9th, 2010 at 9:04 PM ^
For now.
December 9th, 2010 at 10:07 PM ^
If the NCAA does what they did to Reggie Bush there'll be no Cam Newton, not to mention another case of no one winning the Heisman in a given year.

While I fully understand that I'm being a homer when I say this. I think that if michigan was undefeated and Auburn was sitting at 7-5 that the entire situation would be flipped around and that Denard would be the run away winner.
Now, I do understand that Cam had a ton to do with Auburn going 12-0, and that Michigan's offense was still very good when Tate came in while Denard was hurt (frequently). However, neither of those matter to the point I'm actually trying to make.
To me, in all my homerism, when I look at both players... Cam is a beast and an insanely amazing player. I think Denard is better and is getting pushed to the side simply because of the teams record. At a minimum he should have been invited out to NY.
(again, I get I'm a homer. But I think it's debateable at a minimum)
December 9th, 2010 at 2:28 PM ^
David Molk was also honored with a 1st Team selection and Mike Martin on 2nd.
December 9th, 2010 at 2:29 PM ^
heh heh suck it Pryor.
December 9th, 2010 at 2:40 PM ^
Pryor can't help it that he's just average.
December 9th, 2010 at 2:33 PM ^
Well yea, but if he played in the Michigan or Northwestern offenses he would dominate.
/s for those who didn't read his recent comments.
December 9th, 2010 at 3:00 PM ^
That's not /s at all. Why do you think RR recruited him so hard?
December 9th, 2010 at 3:10 PM ^
Pryor came and flat out said he would be as good as or better than Denard and Cam Newton in running spreads. You have the leading all time QB rusher and the second all time 20/20 QB and Pryor just mouthing off like a sore loser.
He picked OSU's offense over any other, and it isn't paying dividens. He isn't becoming the NFL QB he wanted to be and is crying like a little bitch, nothing more.
December 9th, 2010 at 6:54 PM ^
He'll end up a wideout in the pros. Or riding the pine like all OSU QBs.
December 9th, 2010 at 2:43 PM ^
you don't wanna make him angry... after all everybody kills people
December 9th, 2010 at 2:31 PM ^
good for Denard but I think we all know this would have been Terrelle Pryor's award to win had he not picked OSU.
December 9th, 2010 at 2:33 PM ^
... dominated the award if he wanted to.
December 9th, 2010 at 2:44 PM ^
He chose not to... lol
December 9th, 2010 at 2:53 PM ^
He also chose not to pursue a career in medicine which really frees up the Nobel Prize for years to come.
December 9th, 2010 at 2:32 PM ^
He is the only sophomore on the first team offense...next year is gonna be awesome! Congrats Denard and GO BLUE!
December 9th, 2010 at 2:33 PM ^
The little bitch is steaming over the fact that he's overlooked in the Big Ten.

"Quickly, follow me. We need to get you out of here before we run into any reporters."
December 9th, 2010 at 3:11 PM ^
if you didn't run only five times a game but it's 3rd and 20... so hand the ball off to Boom on a draw play, ok?
December 9th, 2010 at 3:15 PM ^
"Terrelle, if you don't score here I'm going to take that Corvette back!"
December 9th, 2010 at 6:42 PM ^
and the weapons.....
December 9th, 2010 at 3:40 PM ^
Denard is awesome, I know, but remember you dominate college football.
December 9th, 2010 at 3:21 PM ^
Guy: "Okay, Terrelle, see that kinda short kid over there across the sideline?"
TP: "Me."
Guy: "No, Terrelle, listen -- that kid with the dreads, see? He's what we call HUMBLE. Can you say 'humble, Terrelle?'"
TP: "Me."
Guy: "(sigh) Okay, try this again. HUMMMMM......BLLLLLLLE."
TP: "(clears throat) Mmmmmmmmmm......Eeeeeeeeeeeeee. Heisman."
December 9th, 2010 at 3:20 PM ^
"See that guy over there? Yeah, him. That's frickin' Lloyd Brady, dude."
December 9th, 2010 at 3:44 PM ^
we need to get these uniforms back to Fresno State.
December 9th, 2010 at 3:28 PM ^
"This is not a hug. I am holding you back from greatness."
December 9th, 2010 at 3:29 PM ^
a) Don't swear at college kids
b) Why bring up TP in a thread celebrating Denard's accomplishments?
c) See B again
December 9th, 2010 at 8:51 PM ^
You can also add
d) Just because he's beaten us the last 3 years don't hate.
December 9th, 2010 at 10:13 PM ^
Giving all the credit for OSU's victories to one player. Yep, sounds like Terrelle Pryor.
"I'm 30-4. I could dominate in any offense in the country."
December 9th, 2010 at 2:40 PM ^
Congrats to D Rob. Is there a more deserving guy? He is a very humble kid who always put his teammates and coaches first. Add that to his light up the room smile and you have a kid who every coach dreams of having.
Speaking of awards, good luck to David Molk who is a finalist for the Rimington award. I believe the Collge Awards Show starts at 7 tonight.
Go Blue!
December 9th, 2010 at 3:12 PM ^
Great job Denard! Here's to success against Miss State and the next 2 years!
December 9th, 2010 at 3:18 PM ^
Let's not make this about Pryor. There are other threads and other reasons to mock Pryor and he certainly gives us more than enough ammo. But here I'd definitely rather focus on how great a year Denard had and how much he deserves the recognition. Also thrilled to see Molk and Martin get the recognition. If Martin had been healthy all season, he would have had a real shot to be first team. He was absolutely dominant when healthy.

A sensible post AND Barney Stinson as your avatar? Easiest +1 of the week.
December 9th, 2010 at 3:34 PM ^
Thanks!
December 9th, 2010 at 3:33 PM ^
it almost makes me forget how much of a BAMF he is on the field.
