"The Drive"

Submitted by HeismanPose on

I really don't think I have ever seen a better drive in any football game, ever. Elway's drive in Stanford-Cal was similar, but that ended on a field goal. Elway's "The Drive" was 98 yards with 5:32 left.

Forcier's drive was 92 yards with 2:52 left and no timeouts, in the rain, with a hurt shoulder.

Tough loss, but that was truly unbelievable.

EDIT: OK, not best EVER. But it's up there for me. Can we say one of the best in Michigan history? I guess the '79 Indiana game comes to mind, but that was more of a "play" than a drive.

like to lose.

we all knew that, but him keeping all the option reads at the end tells me that he WANTS the game on his shoulders.

and again, this was Tate's 5th game in college, first road game, at a conference rival.

Bravo, kid.

even his stats are deceptive: 17-32, 223 2/1 that's not counting 5 drops that would've been for big yards, and while the OT pass wasn't advised, it WAS tipped. and again, in his first start in a conference road game as a true freshman.

i say again, Bravo, kid.

I am more than impressed! I can't believe we have 3 more years with Tate. He has proven over and over to be a clutch player, who never gives up. In my opinion that is what has been missing from Michigan football these past few years. Even though we lost, that drive gave me excitement for the future of our program.

As a Viking fan, I'm kind of partial to Favre's drive last week. But considering how little the offense was getting on the previous drives, it was pretty darn impressive. Tate can turn it on, and prevent defenses never work.

It was a great drive, but I don't think it's the best ever. Tate is amazing to watch, for being a true freshman, he has the poise of a senior with a bunch of experience. I'm pumped that we will have him here at Michigan for awhile.

Okay, the Big Ten Network SUCKS ASS. Troy Woolfolk has started every game for UM, yet the BTN announcers called him "Woolfork" every other time. HELLO...Troy's dad was a star in the Big Ten - in TWO sports. You'd think the BTN announcers could study the teams they're covering, at least enought to pronounce their names correctly. DEAR BTN....IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE PREPPING FOR THE GAMES, CLOSE THE NETWORK AND TURN THE GAMES BACK OVER TO ESPN, ETC.!!!!!!! Oh, and pay attention to the game. Your cameraman SUCKS ASS, b/c he can't even handle a kick return. BTW, the announcers also can't handle down & distance. In Q4, MSU achieved 3rd and 11, but the BTN clowns called it 3rd and 1 on the air. Nice paying attention, MORONS!!!!!!!!! I long for the days of ESPN or ABC covering UM games. BTN SUX ASS!!!!!!!!!! Yes our team sucked on the field, but the BTN was awful.

Looks like youre meeting some resistance on "best drive ever..." How do we feel about...

Best Drive Ever In Light of the Fact that it was On the Road in Pouring Rain by a True Freshman in his First Road Game Against An Arch Rival Playing Their Season on the Line and Convinced That Your Team is the Devil's Spawn?

I think it has a ring to it. Nice work, Tate, you got some serious Cojones.
