Drinko de Mayo Drinking Thread

Submitted by Wolverine319 on

So what are you drinking to celebrate Cinco de Mayo? I am currently knocking back some coronas while watching the rubber match for the Tigers/Yankees series.

Dear Magnus,

Thank you for all of your wonderful commentary, a day doesn't go by that I don't log into mgo and anxiously await your next post. Your own MICH blog is the best on all of the internets. If Dave Brandon was a smart man, he would have hired you instead of that loser Brady Hoke.

This letter is to inform you that your mgoblog account has won a total of 7.5 million U.S. Dollars. Please send  your name, address, phone number, cup size, social security number, mother's maiden name, and BMI to [email protected] and await further instructions on how to collect your winnings.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

Much Love,

Dark Blue

It depends where you live I think.  In so California it is actually pretty fun.  I'm all about day holidays and drinking so Cinco de Mayo, 4th of July, Memorial Day etc. are my favorites.

I don't know about you guys, but I certainly don't need to use a Mexican Holiday, that they don't even celebrate in mexico, as an excuse to drink.    I can think of many many better reasons to do so. :)

It's weird that you guys celebrate more cinco de mayo than ppl here in Mexico.... anyways i'm drinking just because it's thursday, some tequila centenario and cerveza xx lager, later though, it's 2:30 pm here, gotta finish my dutties (not even a holyday)

Welcome to sunny mexico, remember to bring your sun blocker because it's really warm already, micheladas are delicious, there are some bars that make over 50 diferent types, if you're into it, I rather attend filthy cantinas with the urinals next to the bar and spittoons, alongside with red worm mezcal =D

lol, nope, but you'd be stunned with the amount of hot girls that likes to go there, mostly art students though, it's just more vintage I guess, tacky as hell but fun, although I don't think its a place to take the wife, however enjoy good sir

Have a good time man.  Are you going to be doing any fishing while you are down there.  Dorado or Mahi Mahi should be really good right now along with sailfish and white marlin.  Grouper and snapper are always good down there.  I'm contemplating a trip to Punta Cana at the end of June if I have the money.

Not drinking, since I'm home from school for the summer.

To the OP: Technically, it's not the rubber match between the Tigers and Yankees, since it's a 4-game series and the Tigers have already won 2 games. I'm glad to see the Tigers playing better, though. Great pitching in this series.

As I am flying to Detroit for game 4 at 6:30 am tomorrow. I am doing what any good new orleanian does and am drinking straight through. Even found a case of Molson.
