Drew Sharp And 200 Gallons of Red Paint

Drew Sharp misses yet another opportunity to write something even remotely bordering on originality. A new perspective on the recent Brandon hire? Forget about it. Can't be done. This dying newspaper has 200 buckets of red paint High Plains Drifter style. What does one do with it all? Easy. "Rodriguez can’t feel comfortable today. His new boss is someone who understands the importance of what Brandon called “brand management” and certainly has his ear close to the complaints from longtime Michigan supporters who question the direction of the football program. Brandon will have time to figure everything out, and that could mean that Rodriguez’s time to turn things around could run out with a disappointing 2010 season." Drew Sharpton. Sports Controversialist for the Detroit Free Press. I wish I had been the first clever person to locate that corrected spelling. Sadly, I am not.

I love how the one girl says "THAT's funnn" when the real pony comes out, and I love the little cocked-head look at the end the dark haired girl who got shafted gives the bank guy. Great commercial.

I was listening to a bit of talk radio in the car today and was surprised that Dave Birkett was also saying that this hire wasn't a victory for the Rodriguez "faction." He said he thinks Rodriguez isn't safe with a 7-5 record as well as saying he's heard conflicting reports on the NCAA investigation. I think it would be STUPID to fire Rodriguez at this point. He is the best chance we have for success in the near future, and I am still dumbfounded that people would hire a coach who has a less proven track record just because he's a "Michigan Man." Why can't we just take the best without worrying about affiliation? I think it's a shame that Rich has had to waste time and energy on things other than Michigan football. Rant over.
