Drew Dileo. A legendary performance this day.

Drew Dileo had one of the most clutch performances in Michigan history. Mad props to this young man.

Hats off to Dileo for his superb game. Had to have been a crazy atmosphere in the Big House which can only help out our chances for Green and others. Bring em home Hoke and lets hopefully get a few more "Buckle Ups" here in the next few weeks.

Huge catches; most of them difficult and in traffic.  Held right-footed for Matt Wile and left-footed for Brendan Gibbons.

An unheralded 3-star Rich Rodriguez project out of Louisiana; this was his day.  Player of the game.

I posted this on the live blog, but it scrolled by so fast I feel the need to post it again:

Anyone else remember when this blog flipped out after Dileo committed?

The Board thought that it was kind of a wasted pick, that RR brought him in merely to return kickoffs becuase at least he did not fumble the ball.

He made some comments that were almost apologetic after he comitted, about how he hoped he could live up to the Michigan offer.  I felt bad for him because you knew he read some of the comments.

But there were also a lot of supportive comments on the Board as well.

ESPN's comments on Dileo as a recruit:

He is a good athlete with quickness and agility... Maintains balance even after being hit. Fights for every inch of return yardage and can make defenders miss in the open field. … Catches the ball easily in traffic and hauls in the pass even knowing he will be hit immediately after the reception. Can turn back across his body to make the difficult catches.

Wow, they called it dead on.  ESPN is generally thought of as a second-tier recruiting service on this board, but they nailed that one.

The hit that he took on his first catch of the day would have knocked out lesser men.  Kid has great hands, catches anything put anywhere near him.  Glad he had a huge game like this that we couldn't have won without him.

Hoke in postgame with Brandstatter:  "Drew Dileo is a football player.  And he's a tough little football player."

Really happy for him. Seem to recall that he accepted his Michigan offer site unseen (before visiting) - true Michigan man - think he would have walked to A2. Great when kids like that rise to the occasion in big games.

This. He just screamed "that type of kid all great teams have one of who can do everything well but few things great". Many hated the offer as he was a 2*, IIRC. I immediately loved his commit and Ryan's commit once I watched their tape. However, I'll also admit to loving Feagan's tape. Haha. I had my misses on "reach" kids.
